Golf r made in Germany gti isn’t that’s worth 5000
ОтветитьYou’re paying for performance. Try finding the performance specs at a lower price. You can’t.
ОтветитьSeriously, I own a 23' Golf R 20th Anniversary, and happened to see this posting for the 24', and I have to say, this is one of the better reviews out there with great information and feedback. Not as in depth as some, performance oriented as others, but I think it hits a sweet spot for those looking for a well detailed review of the Golf R. Well done.
ОтветитьStill touch capacitive 🤮🤮🤮
ОтветитьThe price you pay and you don't even get brembos or more power
ОтветитьDid you wear the blue shirt to match the cars interior? Plz say yes.
ОтветитьI have a 3month old Audi S3, same car essentially. Very happy I went with it over the R. Interior is a step above and in the real world the performance is no different in my experience. I.e. stonking, not much can touch it in full attack settings. Subjectively I think Audi always look better than VW. In UK they are similar price so it’s down to preference.
ОтветитьNot even remotely worth $45K! I'll buy a used original R MK4 R32 for less slap on pleanty go fast parts ans still have plenty of money left and that sweet VR6 music 🎶
ОтветитьI noticed Canadian models are quite a bit cheaper. I just picked up mine for 52k before tax which is about 39k US. The sucky part is in BC we have a luxury tax over 55k and I had to pay 15% tax😭
ОтветитьI want manual!
ОтветитьThat DCT is weak point. Guaranteed to break.
ОтветитьTime to trade my Gulia Veloce for R.
ОтветитьReally want one so bad
ОтветитьMine will be here in 3 weeks
ОтветитьWe can't hear the engine sounds, performance at corners & so on
as this guy talks
too much non stop ......
Professionally reviewed!
ОтветитьThere's an available carbon package which will make that trim real carbon fiber.
ОтветитьThe worse car in it's class
ОтветитьGreat rundown of the functionalities… but you missed one of the most important ones: AWD!! Can’t get that on a GTI. Very useful in the Northeast.
ОтветитьStill no engine covers? That engine bay will be a nightmare to clean.
ОтветитьSolid honest review; a great car seriously let down by the shiny black touch haptic crap. Such a shame they went it that direction you have to wonder what they were thinking.
ОтветитьExcellent balanced review from a salesperson. I really want to get one but the buttons have me pausing.
ОтветитьI’ve never bought a car before someone dumb this down for me
ОтветитьLiving in the DMV area , the AWD is the huge deciding factor for me . Looking to get either the GTI or R next weekend
ОтветитьLove the styling. Grown up, not boy racer. Can you get it without a sunroof?
ОтветитьToo Expensive!!! My Local Stealer (Pete Moore) in Pensacola wants 5.5k over sticker & won’t even like you test drive one !!!! Rep off!!!
ОтветитьHoping to save up 20% and trade in my 22 wrx for one of these
ОтветитьIt’s a hatchback.
ОтветитьThank you for this....I'm seriously consider one after driving one yesterday but have two concerns. 1: I live down a 4 mile grave/dirt road not ideal.. 2: Also do you think it would be comfortable andquiet on a long road trip say 1500 miles out there with the semi? Not the best car for this but what do you think?
ОтветитьGood review brother. I’m still going to get one while I can get a manual because I think that will be a big deal down the line but also because I haven’t had to shift a car in so long that I’m looking forward to it. Ultimately yes you can get an Audi for this price, but not with that performance so I’m OK with the cost cutting that VW has done there. Overall excellent review.
ОтветитьI just brought mine home this week. Although being in Australia we pay way too much for these cars. I love it so far, still learning about all its features. Sadly the manual model wasn’t available in Australia which is a shame because I love driving a manual. Thank you for the insight to this fun car.
ОтветитьI put 10K miles on the 2023 Golf R 20th edition that comes with the speen manual and for this price VW could have done better with clutch/linkage. I trade it in for the Golfr 2024 with the DSG and what a great difference of driving erxperience.
ОтветитьNice review!!. I just want to share that when you guys are reviewing a car that some how is meant to be sporty you can't judge to much on interior comfort or luxury finishes, because as more sound treatment or leather and cushioning, more weight and price is added to these already loaded with technology, as and example, the awd technology is coming straight from audi. Another one is the brz or gr86, people complain about lots of plastic and simplicity in the interior, but at the same time they want a light weight and balance car, you can't have both at a good price.
Nice job! overall I loved the review👍
Hipster mullet get yourself a Kia
ОтветитьActually, a lot of people don't like the manual. Otherwise VW wouldn't be cancelling it. I do not like being locked into a single color accent. I'd much better prefer the accents to match the body color. Increasing the color palate should be the next update.
ОтветитьSo….I went from ‘22 GTI to Ford Explorer ST, it has all features plus massage chairs & 400 hp AWD…… So R can be agile in congested traffic but look at your rear view mirror……. There’s a monster-quick black Explorer on your tail enjoying a massage just waiting for an opening to blow past you
ОтветитьI hope they are going to put on the engine cover or is that an option?
ОтветитьOddly for a performance sedan, I found the R's sport leather seats quite wide and not as sporty and "confined" as other sport seats such as those in the Civic SI or R or the new WRX non-Recaro sport buckets. The bolsters are not as aggressive and they feel almost sedate and "pedestrian" especially considering the performance caliber of the R.
ОтветитьPicked up mine 2 weeks ago. Still learning all the features my MK7 R didn’t have. Knob-less dash is a little challenging at first but as with anything, the more you use it, the better you get at it. Definitely a blast to drive. Great review as well.
ОтветитьDoes it have engine stop/start, and if so, can you leave it off?
ОтветитьI did moved from the 7.5 to a manual 8 and I don’t regret it at all. Mechanicals are better in general. Yeah the infotainment is a long shot but not bad once you learn it and adapt. The thing I hate are all those mandatory European nannies (driver assistance stupidity) that cannot be permanently turned off. That’s it. I’m sure eventually we will find a way to turn them off. Bottom line is just software. I don’t need nor want driver assistance. Let me drive my car peacefully!. If I want it to turn or brake by itself. Then I take Uber! If I’m behind the steering wheel. Let me drive like a responsible adult. I definitely do not need nanny’s
ОтветитьCubic feet? Whyyyyyy
ОтветитьThe thing I struggle with is that I don't care about the extra HP of the R so I'm leaning towards a GTI autobahn.... but I live in an area with a lot of snow in the winters so the AWD of the R is apealing. Either way id wait for the 25 models tho because personally, the big screen is nice. I like having a bigger screen so I can see the nav easier without having to take my eyes off the road as much.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤
Ответитьgreat rundown and review
ОтветитьGreat review man. I like how you went through all the features. Very thorough.
ОтветитьMy GR Corolla could handle that corner in Lane assist
ОтветитьThanks for the thorough review, I enjoyed it! But could you please not drive 1 handed while recording... Get the gear, keep yourself and others safe.
ОтветитьOne second faster in 0-60 is not a little bit faster. It is a lot faster!
ОтветитьAs someone who owns a 24 manual R coming from a e60 tunes 21 WRX. It blows my subie out of the water. The people complaining about the interior have not lived with one. It took me one day to get used to the infotainment the seats are immaculate I mean idk what yall want looool the only thing I will say I’ve found a issue with is the gloss trim as it collects finger prints easily but nothing some interior cleaner can’t fix
