Excellent instructions on the breakdown and maintenance of the AR-15 platform.
ОтветитьMany thanks, first time AR user, cleaning, field stripping was not a known commodity....watched this a few times...voila, thanks
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьThis dude is just raw dogging his hands in that solvent
ОтветитьHickok45. Spray with Ballistol, except in the gas tube. It likes to run wet.
ОтветитьBy all means, on the little fiddly pieces, rush right past and make it a wide shot
ОтветитьI'd rather not buy it if I have to do all that
ОтветитьWhen are we gonna come up with something with less steps? With ak’s you don’t have to do that.
ОтветитьFantastic video! Thank you so much!
Ответитьu guys have no idea of what ur doing with that weapon , ever heard of scrubing the parts clean of all carbon , no I didnt think so , bad function check as well go figure , plus he calls alot of parts incorrectly , if u want to know how to clean this weapon right talk to some one who is or was in the military or read a field manual
ОтветитьOf course not, they're just biased on whose method of cleaning is the best. Get the rifle as clean as you can and enjoy it people... it's like little kids bickering about how each other tie their shoes differently. Shooting USA is highly renowned and wouldn't give bad info in their shows.
ОтветитьCleaning the AR? Har... Harrr.... don't you know that the AR-15 is a self-cleaning rifle?
ОтветитьAs an AR noob other than him not cleaning the bolt carrier or the bolt did he do that bad on cleaning it?
ОтветитьI just bought one today. Thanks for the info.
Ответитьugh, I hate when people shove their finger in the chamber, even worse when they teach others to do it. Very unsafe and a horrible idea. Looking is more than enough, there is not going to be some hidden bullet in there that you can't see. Don't stick your finger in there and risk losing it.....
Ответитьi´m argentinian. our army use the FAL buut it´s interestig to see how to disarm an ar15
ОтветитьSeems like many of you dont like this guys cleaning process. Anyone have a link to a real 'expert' cleaning process?
Ответить@fulsame1 but AR's and M4's are considered the same weapon as over hundreds of different versions of them some fixed stocks some not but as for everything on the weapon its the same and also the US Army constructs the AR's, M4's (which again are the same weapon just civilian / military terms) and M-16's
Ответить@brentfoto There are much better videos out there. The fact that this vid is ONLY 6 minutes is part of the problem. A rookie to the AR15 has no business touching their gun if they are only watching this video. This goes well beyond field stripping, which most users shouldn't be doing. Some of the cleaning tools are wrong (ie an aluminum brush). Stick with AGI's armorer DVD for a thorough look at cleaning and explaining why we do and don't do certain things.
Ответить@lordcrusade Got it a little backwards there. AR-15 was Eugene Stoner's original designation under armalite. The U.S. military then designated it the m16, and later the m4.
ОтветитьI'm new to the AR-15 but have done research on it, read the Army manual, etc. gone to ar15.com, and I doubt there is a better, more concise video showing cleaning and reassembly than this one. I don't have any idea why this video is being criticized. This guy does in a little over 6 minutes the essentials which take 30 minutes or more with other video presenters. You guys are overly critical, and if you review the Army manual, you will see that much of it is followed.
Ответить@Smooov516 AR15 is the civilian name but basically its an M4 in military terms
ОтветитьNo this is so wrong. If anyone were to actually do this their weapon would be worse off then when they started. Everything he did just loosened the crap inside. He didn't even clean the bolt carrier or even the inside of the bolt. And don't even get me started on the star chamber. Sorry but if you're going to look for help on how to clean an AR-15 look for someone who knows what they are doing.
Ответить@TexasWhitetails1 obviously
ОтветитьHe didn't even do a functions check.
ОтветитьMan, I'm way too spoiled by my Ak-47.
Ответить@himoms1001 AR15 is a semi automatic only version of the M16 and normally doesn't support the use of the m203 unless your barrel is gov profile.
ОтветитьIm not ex-military, so cleaning my AR-15 seemed like a daunting task after shooting it. This video was great, made field stripping and cleaning a breeze. Thanks very much!
Ответить@Namnarooni Haha I know you had some good points. I love AR's but it's a pain in the ass in my state when you want to build one...no folding or collapsible stocks, Has to be have a barrel over 16 inches..no flash suppressor or threaded barrels and the list goes on. anyway I just read your comment about going to read an army manual as being cocky..but in hindsight it'd be a better idea then listening to this guy..
Ответить@Chris28456 - Actually, I made those comments to be constructive but you want to see it as trolling... The things I commented on are actual concerns by a good deal of us who have fired AR style platforms all of our lives... Especially the bit about sticking your pinky in the chamber when the bolt is charged... It's downright stupidity... yet this guy is showing the world how to do it....
Ответить@himoms1001 - Is your google broken?
Ответить@Chris28456 - Please a standard Army field manual and quit relying on videos like this to hold your hand.
Ответить@Namnarooni Please make a video showing the proper way.
ОтветитьThanks for the video, but you forgot tell the audience to pull out the bolt before reinserting the Firing Pin Retaining Pin. Better luck next time.
ОтветитьHe never cleans the carbon off the gas tube or the inside walls of the upper... all sortsa fun stuff builds up in there. A pipe cleaner is best for the gas port on the bolt.
ОтветитьSecondly... You wanna run a wet patch with solvent down the barrel and let it sit a while before running the brush... And it will take more than 1 brushing... 5 minimum.
ОтветитьYeah... Boys & Girls, It's never a good idea to stick your pinky finger into the chamber with your bolt charged back....
Ответить@wickedrebel512 I use Rem oil to clean surfaces, and some bore cleaner also from Remington, and I use Hoppe's lubricating oil for..... lubrication. I'm new to ARs also, lol but I hope I helped
Ответитьmini-14 is like a female mud wrestlers, bitch dont care how dirty she gets, just gonna keep going till her opponent submits.
ОтветитьWhat chemicals are you using? I just bought an AR and am very new to the scene, can anyone give me some suggestions? I have an AR cleaning kit that I bought at a gun show but I have no idea what chemicals to use, which ones are the best, etc. Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьHe doesn't lube the rails on the bolt carrier which he does catch in his notes (probably because we noticed it too). Whatever you do, DO NOT use a Q-tip to clean the inside of the gas key. I repeat, DO NOT EVER, NEVER EVER, use a Q-tip to clean out the inside of the gas key. You'll learn the hard way that when the cotton tip comes off the end of that stick and lodges in the gas key. You will then look at the gas key and think to yourself, "oh FiretrUCK"!
Ответить@luisg254 All M16s and M4s are AR-15 style rifles.
Ответить@iTsStEpHyyyy Good for you, but in general, for men. Because more Men enjoy weaponry than Women. Just as more Women enjoy Martha Stewart than Men.
Ответить@airsoftdude1990 for men? i have 3 ar-15's :/....
Ответитьeasy to clean and doesn't have the spring you have to watch out for that the AK does (unless you take the buffer tube out like this video shows, which again is unnecessary for a field strip). The AK isn't hard to clean either, but if you think this is hard then you've obviously never handled either or probably any gun.
ОтветитьThis video is kind of odd. You talk about putting oil on several areas that don't need oiled every cleaning (or ever in the case of the dust cover pin, that never really needs lube) yet you don't say anything about lubing the area the bolt contacts the carrier and the four 'rails' that the bolt carrier contacts the upper. Those are some MAJOR areas that you missed! Also for everyone saying this seems so hard and an AK would be a lot easier, have you ever actually seen either? The AR is super
ОтветитьSeems to hit all the key points. Not quite as thorough as a few of the other AR15 videos I've seen, but then again it it also almost 1/5 the length of some of those out there. A very good quick reference for those out there just getting on board with the AR platform!
Ответитьit has the exact same firing mechanism as an m16 thats badass
Ответить@jbjeter17 thanks for the suggestion bud. Got some ballistol the other day that stuff is amazing!!!
