During a 30-minute discussion among a group of respected intellectuals, they only debated how the show could have been performed, instead of recognising that they lost because they didn’t achieve the desired result. This country will continue to decline unless its politicians realise their job is not just for show; they must have the competence and vision to address the nation’s problems.

I believe the new owner of the Spectator is an honorable, successful and very intelligent gentleman.

What, though, could possibly be the point of appointing someone like Michael Gove.
He will not command the respect of the readership.
And his “humor” is NOT funny.
I also note 📝 an increase in what I can only politely term as odd left wing or muddled articles.
For heaven’s sake please bring in a serious 🧐 person as soon as possible !

Reform didnt split the Right. Those voters woukd have either stayed at home or given Labour an even bigger majority. And no mention of Immigration being the deciding issue.

Katy Balls is actually right about Ashworth losing his seat being a moment of the year. Five sitting Labour MP's defeated by candidates who came from nowhere - complete nobodies. It could only have been achieved by muslim block voting. This is a harbinger of what is to come in the future. Pity they didn't have the courage to explore that more in their discussion.

I find it hard to laugh along with Gove given the damage he's done. He was chiefly responsible for the situation where we had the utterly useless Theresa May thrust upon us. She destroyed Brexit through her abysmal negotiations and landed us with thd albatross of net zero which is impovershing the whole country. He was also a lockdown zealot and therefore has a huge role in the societal and economic collapse that followed this stupendously ruinous policy.

As for the pompous Letts, Reform have far clearer andmore detailed policies than Labour or the Conservatives.

Why is he backing Badenoch to keep mass immigration going? You would do better not to have offensive individuals like Gove in your podcasts.

Another, non-'Tory' Metro-establishment creature trundling out hackneyed drivel like "splitting the right-wing vote" when alluding to Reform UK. A wholly inaccurate claim on two counts. Firstly, that the wreck of a party he still infests has, since posturing Metro-elite quasi-liberal EUro-Quislings like Cameron hijacked it, no longer been "conservative" OR genuinely centre-right in the economic sense. Secondly that Reform IS both. 'Conservative' in that broader socio-political sense AND genuinely centre-rightist, economically. Not merely "right wing".

With all due respect, this is just London media bubble navel gazing from The Spectator; firstly, the Tories didn't mismanage their time in government - it was all deliberate. The Tories decided not to govern in the interests of the British people - but choose to accept the globalist agenda.

Katy balls is talking total rubbish. The reason the Tories lost was due to fifteen years of economic decline initiated and led by the disastrous austerity inflicted on the country by the right wing. The lack of growth and investment caused by those policies have crippled the country. The Tories will not get back in for at least ten years. Mind you if Reform get in with flat tax and tax breaks for those putting children in private education as some of their lunatic economic ideas, we might as well switch off the lights and close the door on the uk. Just allow those in the City of London to keep feeding off the dieing corpse.

I don’t think Reform will split the right, many Labour voters will vote for them and many folk who don’t usually vote will vote for them!
Farage is a great figurehead, but I think Rupert Lowe would make a great PM and if Suella came over she would for sure!

A battle for Britain is coming now we have so many people here who not share our history, culture and values and as Islamism rises with impunity.

Only Suella has been consistently vocal about this with Farage now backtracking.
