The fact that they even have a slow vs fast get up from seated animation is honestly a quality of life mistake. Panic getting up usually means I forget to push shift. Halfway through the animation pushing shift means nothing.
Also, weird bug: put 50 kg in you main inventory. You can then fill your empty backpack with additional items, going over the 50kg carry capacity.

You don't need to click the arrows to expand the views of items. Just click over the icon of any item and "voila". In fact, you are doing this in the nails, but your first explanation was wrong.

you can double click on an item to grab it, you don't have to drag & drop and of course it's faster
I advice to sort by category so weapons are at the top of your inventory, if you're in an hurry you will find your weapons faster.
Something very useful too is that you can put on favorite items, favorite items don't get out of your inventory, let's say you click transfer all and there are some items you want to keep in your bag, well those favorite items will stay in your bag while all the rest goes away.
another advice, grab garbage bags and put items in them and rename those bags according to what they hold, food, weapons, farming stuff... not only it'll be way faster to grab them (since you grab the bag and not all items separately) but it will be way more organized especially in car trunks where you can't normally organize shit. Why garbage bags? Because they're everywhere and they have a pretty good capacity (20)

something you didn't mention, expanding items make you able to see how much it contains (for water bottles for example) and how long it takes to cook, you have a "cooking" bar displayed so you can check if it's nearly cooked or not all

The collapsing of stacked items is such a useful tool. You can see the condition of weapons/gear/tools, how many charges are left with consumable items like pills, disinfectants, fuel sources, ammo count in your magazines, and the absolute best: organized bags, filled with categorically organized loot, readily filled for on the go gameplay. Absolutely amazing utility.

Do you have any workaround on inventory delays in multiplayer? I'm not talking about ping. Sometimes you get delayed and can't transfer items at all for approximately 5 seconds and it really bothers me.

Other inventory tricks worth mentioning - you can take heavy objects and equip as primary/ secondary. This way character feels only 30% of their weight.
But is unable to fight.
So use it only when you are absolutely safe.

Oh! Yeh, I've learned switch Inventories by holding Ctrl or other bottom you set,
And also learned holding shift to stand up quicker

One trick I discovered recently is tapping Shift when a zombie gets close. The character kind of pushes through the zombie. Plus you get distance to fight or run.

Good guide. I personally play with both inventories open but using V key to hide them including all UI. V key is much closer to hand than I key so I just press V to show UI whenever Im looting containers and then I press again when I'm traveling or fighting zombies. The only downside is that it also hides the moodles icons. I love playing without having UI icons blocking parts of my screen so I simply got used to quickly turning UI on and off just to check the moodle status from time to time.

I just recently found out that if you manually expand books that you own at your safe house you will automatically know which books you do and do not have when you are out looting because they will be expanded if you already own them. But you have to do this manually and not with the expand all button.

I'm struggling with carry weight because there are so many useful items to hoard.

I have 500 hours in and I kinda got used to the inventory but I whould really love to see it more customizable. I really wish you can order your items the way you want. its sometimes kinda annoying. I like to order all my items on type and from z to a. I always use this, but when I click and the order changes I sometimes get confused. The inventory system could use a overhaul or at least some more custom options...
