You’re right, leaving the tachymetre (big yellow seconds hand) running will be a massive drain on your battery.
If in need of a seconds counter, there is a running seconds dial at the 6 marker.

Today I just saw the panda white and black dial with red silicone strap. PRC 200 is it ever beautiful man in Canada at Winners. They want $350 and it was marked down to 280. So tempting and what a beauty but I can't justify it because I bought a Seastar 1000 back in July. I love that they have an end-of-life indicator on the battery by double ticking on the secondhand.

my wife gifted me prc 200 in 2012 and the watch is till intact today.
