LPG and engines don't mix
ОтветитьFreezer burn right ?
ОтветитьThat shit is cold
ОтветитьThird possibility, it's a Toyota.
ОтветитьWe have 4 tanks at my work that get swapped out once a week. Id say 75% of them are messed up and won't seal. There are a couple days a week I come to work in the morning and the entire building smells like propane because the morons I work with just screw on the bad tank and let it leak.
ОтветитьThe only time I would ever trade a Toyota for a Mitsubishi is in the world of forklifts
ОтветитьSo if he had the rubber gloves suit, he could just mandhandle this back together?
ОтветитьFunk, as always, great show. I. Did. Not. Understand. A word you said explaining what happened. BUT, it sounds good, and I promise never to do that. There you go!
ОтветитьHappend to me once. I did burn my hands and ran away. I was outside though had gloves on not the right type though
ОтветитьDrove forklift for like 10 years, Never saw any crap like this.
ОтветитьThose guys r pos who fills these tanks. Give u frost bite real quick
ОтветитьAs someone with no forklift ticket anymore, you couldn’t be more right, love the vids!!!
ОтветитьCan confirm I do not use the supplied PPE 😅. However I do make sure the valve is closed every time before I attach the hose for reasons I will not say.
ОтветитьHeavier than air and a wide fuel air mixture to achieve detonation... propane, dangerous as fuck in interior spaces.
ОтветитьYeah.... I've never wore ppe swapping tanks lol.
Knock on wood, hope nothing goes wrong.
Got burned by propane once
The valve was bad
Filled it up and as I was removing the hose
All the propane leaked out, some on my hand
Fortunately only once ( for now)
I fill tanks all the time at the gas station, the amount of people that get pissy with me because we wont fill up tanks older than 10-12 years old amazes me.
tanks are only good for 10 years 12 years if the tank says its a 12 year tank. they need to be traded in for a new one to get recertified.
I’m 100% sure O rubber ring missing on valve connector when has changed gas cylinder .!
I have seen it myself in my previous job , guy running to office and panicking like headless chicken 🤣🤣 forklift about to explode. So no body dear get close to forklift.. fear small spark would have ended in disaster… so we waited until whole cylinder become empty leak out all gas and when we removed it empty cylinder founder they guy changed it didn’t check if its rubber O ring is inside.!
Just screwed valve soon started running gas out just run away instead of unscrew it or turn the valve off .!
You can either wear your PPE or become next months safety training video 😂
ОтветитьIt’s when you get that spray in the eyes that you remember to put those safety glasses on. Wish it didn’t take me more than 2 times to learn that.
ОтветитьI have seen the hose get snagged on an object hanging from a rack and it broke the fitting on the bottle in half. It didn't even take much force
ОтветитьI really don’t mind safety things and think they should be used, but when people don’t use the basic safety stuff, they have to make more rules than nobody follows any of the rules
ОтветитьCross threading the hook up connection and sometimes those tanks can leak because the person that fills them up puts too much.
ОтветитьLets face it, even with the ppe most people would still runaway the second they hear and oh now theres visible vapor. And thanks to hollywood people think that means boom in 2 seconds
ОтветитьI've been using propane riding mowers for years at my company, and I've never seen any fails like this. However John Deere mowers seem to have an odd quirk that the engine freezes when the tank is too full, and the company that refills the tanks always overfills them, so we're always having to vent gas when we change tanks. It wastes fuel, pollutes, and is bad for our health, but we don't have a choice if we want our mowers to run.
ОтветитьPpe for changing a tank. Im sorry but those are the people that just cause problems
ОтветитьTIL there's PPE for propane tanks.
ОтветитьAppears you speak of this incident based on experience…
ОтветитьChanging a tank has PPE?
ОтветитьI worked in warehouses and factories for years, been forklift certified since 18 years old. I've never F'd up switching out tanks.
This is because true masters of the craft know how to avoid having to be the one to replace it by paying attention to the levels and finding any excuse to not be operating it when it gets too low and using a different lift instead.
I'm a small guy, much stronger and tougher than I look, but real life ain't a movie so changing those massive tanks sucks. Did it twice as an 18 year old...have never had to do it since.
Correct PPE to change out a tank..... What is that? A functional brain.
ОтветитьFunk is pretty cute. Everyone likes teddy bear men 🐻
Ответитьit feels lyk frost bite its horrible
ОтветитьWhen filling those tanks never hold them between your knees.
-I heard a lound hiss
-Earl screamed
-I ran over and saw Earl limping towards the shop.
-I yelled "ARE YOU OK?"
-"No, I froze my testicle to my thigh"
-I yelled back "YOU'RE OWN YOUR OWN EARL".....and walked away.
Wait there is proper PPE for swapping those tanks I didn't know there was I always wore my leather gloves I hated those things I had to use one on a gravel parking lot in the winter and it sucked loading my flat bed with sand bags I didn't even know how to swap the tanks I just kinda figured it out
ОтветитьThere's only 1 place that we used propper ppe for propane and that's because people kept dying in the facility from random stuff.
ОтветитьThis does happen all the time. Use the right gloves and this doesn't happen
ОтветитьIt's never gonna stop happening
Ответитьi work at home depot this often happens with our tanks
ОтветитьThere's PPE for tank replacement?
ОтветитьI had similar happen three times, and now I always check my valve is close. But also no, I didn't flee, I used the correct PPE and turned it off before finishing hookup.
ОтветитьSo are forklifts like these run by gas or propane?
Ответитьa reminder that any machine can be a smoke machine if you operate it incorrectly enough
ОтветитьAs someone who drives a forklift every day, I can SMELL that from here :P
ОтветитьAny machine can be a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough
ОтветитьChemical/freeze resistant gloves, face shield and shopcoat are the correct ppe for propane tank handling. I have not once in my life seen someone wear any of that when handling propane.
ОтветитьI've seen countless guys fusing cotton gloves to their hands with the icy refreshment of liquid propane lol
ОтветитьAny machine can be a smoke machine if you use it incorrectly enough
ОтветитьPlease spend the time to SHOW people the safe way to do tank change and please point out and describe gotchyas. They won't be expecting that out of you - most of us have just winged it and figured it out as we went. Even IF employers do safety training (they DON'T) nobody remembers is 5 minutes. When we see your face we pay attention because you're entertaining. We could take advantage of that!
Ответить"Never seen a tank on a forklift at a homedepot right" Sooo true , they either will never change it, or put it on wrong, strip the living crap out of it with pliers, wonder why they dont thread on....
Ответить
