Hey Love the wood working vids XD
ОтветитьYou can sweep out the bottom of your mortises. After you make the 3 plunges, return to the first position and replunge. While the mortiser is still on and plunged actuate the lever that allows it to tilt and sweep across the bottom of you mortise. (I hope that makes sense) this will take out the high points in the bottom of the mortise.
ОтветитьReminds me of working with my dad <3
Ответитьtry wrapping some electrical tape around the top of the chisel
ОтветитьGreat music selection! Thanks for sharing your work. :)
Ответитьwe've had the blood, we've had the sweat!! now wheres the tears 😢😂
ОтветитьThe best projects often draw blood!
I LOVE the roman numerals on the timbers. Classic.
Also, your littlest right there with her daddy. Priceless.
Where did you get you framing chisel from?
ОтветитьKitchen roll and electrical tape!! That's A proper plaster
ОтветитьHey Tim great work. Does the morticer not have any dust/ chip extraction?
ОтветитьWhat happened to the final van videos ?
Ответитьlooks like you have a great helper
ОтветитьEnjoy your wood working, your 'workshop' seems to be tight and small, be careful, viewers from Hong Kong.
ОтветитьMaking some great progress!
ОтветитьThe cut happened to me too on a sorby. I filed the edges.
ОтветитьJust use a bit of sand paper and take the sharp edges off your chisel, I had the same problem and that how I solved it
ОтветитьWell done. Nice job
ОтветитьNice framing vid. Nice to see you learning as you go along and just ‘doing it’. The Makita is such a great framing tool, and totally worth the investment. I like your nice new Robert Sorby’s too; they’re going to look Well used by the time you’re done. I use the 1.5” and the 2”, and they do just fine. Just keep them sharp! Are you going to half lap your braces or dissemble the posts and beam to cut m&t’s in?
Also, looks like you’re doing a kind of mill rule approach rather than the ‘line, level & plumb’ scribe rule approach we traditionally use in this country? Anyway, really looking forward to seeing how this all comes together. I can’t quite see what it is you’re trying to do yet, but am intrigued.... Stay safe (maybe get some drift pins - that bar sticking out from the one joint is a health and safety nightmare!!} and enjoy.
are you using seasoned or green oak? please could you tell me who is your supplier? thanks
ОтветитьGreatest helper ever..
ОтветитьOne word fella , quality !!!
ОтветитьLiterally 'Blood and Sweat' has gone into this build, hope it's appreciated. cant wait to see the finished project!
Keep up the hard work :)
Did u make the pegs or by them if so where from
ОтветитьShould have had shoulders on the columns for the beams to rest on to take the full load. Without the seats the beam is only worth that of the tenon.
ОтветитьWhere did you buy your chisel you’re from
Ответить💪
ОтветитьHey, love your videos. Where did you get the pegs from?
ОтветитьFirst you draw the plan then you make the kit then you put it together. Nice accurate work.
Please get some hard shoes and safety glasses for your daughter. Safety glasses for your self is also a good idea.
boy i sure dont want to be around when that drill fails X_x. boooom
ОтветитьAnother one to add to the "Timber Framing" playlist when you have time.😊
Ответитьwell you gave the blood, just need the sweat and tears. that chisels lethal. like your mortiser, might have to invest in one of those.
ОтветитьGlad to see I'm not the only one who find himself bleeding on a job and can't figure out how it happened. Usually, I don't even notice til well down the road and there's blood everywhere!
