There’s lots of research suggesting giving individual people or families money directly often is a good cost/benefit ratio way of running a charity as opposed to something more indirect like paying for a treatment or buying them food or clothes. Honestly a fund that people can apply to for emergency money with quick turn around could be really good. Tragically it seems like Jake is the problem here. He’s really not selling the concept at alllll.

Jesus! Dude is more of a pathetic clout demon than Mama Max. Also, if anyone wants to donate to a charity that actually helps chronically ill children and their families. I suggest Ronald McDonald House. They provide free housing for families whose children have to spend extended periods in the hospital. It's really an amazing place. Got my family through some really hard times.

I had cancer, leakmia, when i was 6 years old. I went into remission at 10 years old.

Ironically. Gasped when you started talking about it... so, what kept me entertained as a child was literally a fucking pinball machine, an arcade cabinet, stuffed animals donated to me that me and my dad would throw at cup towers we would build together and this weird wheel toy...

Oh. I forgot to mention also that what kept me pacified was The Super Mario Brothers Super Show... the same DVD over and over for some reason. As well as a obscure song from a now retired theme park attraction. My dad hated it! Lol. And I'd play Luigis mansion with one of my friends and we'd make fun of Toad crying LMAO.


But yeah, that pinball thing... that brought up all kinds of genuinely good memories for me since these things helped me, they all helped me cope. I wouldn't say kids need it or they'll die, but I think they're super important to help adults and children alike cope and bond, and creative positive memories to overshadow any trauma that could linger and add onto what we already have to deal with mentally after testament.

I’m sceptical of people making their own charity that does nothing unique. It screams insecurity and selfish motives. There’s nothing wrong with identifying a well run and successful charity that has a proven record and raising money for them.

I would be more comfortable giving my money to a homeless guy that I knew was going to use it on liquor.

I sent in my story to him because of dental fees I desperately need and have NEVER received a single news letter or email from NeverStop.

I didn’t have genuinely high expectations, but I had hope. I’m a huge fan of the dude. I just feel like since this drama went down- something weird is going on.

Especially in time with him talking about his own medical issues in tandem with the charity. I’m worried hes looking at it as something he’s raised for his own costs. And morally doesn’t feel bad about dipping into the funds that are supposed to help multiple people just to cover his own expenses.

a charity's which exists to give $500 to someone per month just....sounds shady. Keep in mind i think jake had like 6 grand in funds for the charity and still maintained giving ONE person only $500 per month. My theory is that he's dipping into the funding whenever he wants, but not enough to completely rid of the next months donation, and then hoping more people donate so the next month's donation will be covered. The more money he has backlogged means the more money he can dip into NOW.

To put it like this:
the charity gets lets say $1500 dollars in funding.
That is 3 months of donations the charity would have to make when the time comes.
Jake takes $500 of that money for himself.
leaving him two months of time until that $500 of charity money needs to be coughed back up.

But hey, thats just a theory.

Revisiting this because I feel like being mad today. The reason good charities do sponsors, marketing ect is to turn 500 dollars into worth that exceeds just those 500 bucks. I donate to a dog charity, and they can turn my 20 dollars a month into dogfood worth 60 dollars, or veterinary expenses worth like 100 dollars, because they have sponsors and deals with clinics, stores, and more. This charity is useless. If it was a charitable thing he just did for his subs I wouldn't care. Him trying to pass it off as a real charity that does so much good makes me mad.
