Totally Establishment .. Who does he remind you of at 0.11'
Ответитьits not, on van gogh. its about many different artist
ОтветитьMarvelous interview, inspiring. Hockney is one of my favorite modern painters. Gracias
ОтветитьHe just doesn't understand trees.. At all at all
ОтветитьNature has an erection <3
ОтветитьAs a Yorkshire girl I am just so obsessed with Hockney 😍
ОтветитьDavid Hockey is a natural treasure. With him it's just about the art. And that's the way it should be.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful little film ❤
ОтветитьDavid is right. Van Gogh admitted he felt older and meaner, but got his revenge with the joy he experienced when he created his paintings and drawings. What a legacy he left us.
Ответитьit's pretty hard to see the connection. Van Gogh was a legend. This guy is trash.
ОтветитьI thought that was bubbles
ОтветитьVincent van Go ? What?
For the love of all that's holy, can people PLEASE recognise where this person was from and bother to learn how his name is pronounced. It's really infuriating.
Both inspiring and phenomenal geniuses of colour and nature. They both make life worth exploring.
ОтветитьFantastic.
ОтветитьSo, David talkes about JR 😂 😂😂
ОтветитьWhat a delightful man. So inspiring and still able to be inspired and not jaded about the potential of beauty in the simplest of scenes. Thank you❤ for a gorgeous video.
ОтветитьDavid, it's "Gock" as in "Van Gogh". Brits seem to have this thing, pronouncing it in their own way ("Van Goff"). We American dummies, we do our own thing ("Van Go") . We're adults now, and we can respect the pronunciation that most Europeans agree to...and to pronounce it as the Dutch do. As Van Gogh did.
ОтветитьWonderful, what a great pairing!
ОтветитьBrilliant video. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьDavid Hockney and Vincent! What better a pair to reflect the exuberance of landscapes! Look with your eyes, then see again, again the colors within…that is joy, that is the joy of life and the living!
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьThank you! 😍
Ответитьcan anybody find the jersey brand/model david is wearing?
ОтветитьDavid Hackney
ОтветитьI love David's works. Stunning arrangement of colour
ОтветитьOMG I could listen to anyone talking about Vincent Van Gogh but Mr. Hockney's thoughts and words are resplendent. What a lovely video, thank you.🎨🖌️💐🌿
ОтветитьThe greatest living artist, in a league of his own!!
ОтветитьI do like listening to Hockney talking about painting. Like a craftsman does. It's delightful and also really inspiring and helpful.
ОтветитьHockney’s a much better colourist than he gives himself credit for… I understand there’s a requisite (possibly appropriate) level of humility here but Hockney’s paintings of nature I thought were a success— a kind of ‘visionary seeing’… he did what he set out to do, I think.
Ответитьهاهاهاهاها
ОтветитьDavid is such a Northerner he makes me feel proud by association
ОтветитьI love the work of Van Gogh (pronounced fan hooh in Dutch). I love the absolute decisiveness of each stroke of paint, the beauty in the seemingly ordinary. He showed such mastery and Hockney is right. Had Van Gogh lived another 10 years his work would have found its audience and he would have made,a lot of money. However the real joy is in the creation of each painting. You never really know how it's going to turn out
ОтветитьIt started painting when my brother was in late stage dementia as I tried to understand what he was seeing but actually discovered what I was seeing. I think dementia people see the world as devoid if depth like a picasso painting unless the scene is described then they make sense of it but only briefly.
ОтветитьThank you to everyone who contributed to the production of this video. It’s invaluable.
ОтветитьI say again, "how DARE David Hockney comment on Van Gogh!", and especially so to imply that they had anything in common.
ОтветитьI love Hockney’s. Simple, pure, makes my heart sing.
Ответить“oh no!!!, not another beautiful sunrise”!…. A line from a film about the rich hedonistic elite who escaped to South Africa to get away from the nasty world war 2!!. Every sunrise is unique!!
ОтветитьI wouldn't cross the street to see Van Gogh or Hochney, boring. I made an exact copy of starry night just to show a friend how easy it is. Millet was a far better painter than these losers.
ОтветитьI am an artist myself, and when I started painting nature, I know exactly what Hackney is talking about. suddenly you can see every little thing in a blade of grass
ОтветитьHmmmm. Using the camera lucida, as a tool to paint swimming pools?
I find his and Van Gogh’s works to be cartoonish, especially compared
to the really great painters such as J S Sargent, Bastien LaPage, Isaac Levitan, George Inness
etc etc. Art history is slowly being rewritten now, thank God.
❤
ОтветитьVan Gogh's life is what happens to perceptive and sensitive artists who dont have connections.
Like what David had plenty of.
Pure, beautiful joy to have made and to see; Spring in Paris is brighter for David’s gracious words and smile; the FLV show is sublime - easily worth the line! Merci ❤
ОтветитьAlways been a fan of David Hockney.❤Now i know why❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьFinally, I heard someone that thought the same about perspective in nature. Really no rules when dealing with natural landscape.
ОтветитьIf he asked me to describe the road I would probably say I see every colour in the world in the road. But I guess I’m just an artist so I say things like that. I’m a true artist. I see colour everywhere. I’m even more of an artist than this guy
ОтветитьA lovely interview. I love them both, Van Gogh and Hockney.
ОтветитьOh David - how terribley dismissive of you to over talk how a photographer sees - not being one yourself. I am such a HUGE fan of all of your work - all of it. It's not quite right though is it - to dismiss other views for your own. Van Gogh - is not really to be understood well is he - not be anyone. So young a mind - he never really arrived at his place in full. So easy to sit where you are now and surmise - but not quite right to do
ОтветитьHe's actually living in Normandie and there's a great exposition until August at Vuitton Fondation, he is quite regularly exposed in Paris, thanks too David Hockney to illuminate my spring and summer, sometimes i'm scared that he could be the last one.
