Welcome to another episode, where we dive into the heart of the Upstate. Today we’re shining the spotlight on Spartanburg, SC.If you’ve been considering Spartanburg, you’re in for a
treat today!

Let’s kick things off with a snapshot of Spartanburg. Nestled in the heart of South Carolina, Spartanburg boasts a rich history dating back over two centuries. From its humble beginnings to the thriving community it is today, every corner echoes the stories of the past.

Spartanburg county was formed in 1785 and got its name from the Spartan Regiment, a local militia unit that fought in the Revolutionary War. It’s grown from a frontier trading post and later a major textile center to an important and diversified manufacturing center with more than 500 manufacturing firms.

Here in Spartanburg there are multiple local colleges and learning centers with a growing food scene, there is always something to be done on the weekends. Locals can ride their bikes around town, shop at the farmers markets, check out festivals, or enjoy local restaurants and
breweries. Spartanburg’s a pet-friendly city, where it’s common to see locals walking their dogs downtown or sharing a meal at a restaurant patio with pets in tow.

So why should you move to Spartanburg?

#1. Affordability: Spartanburg offers cost-effective living when compared to other metro areas, making it an attractive option for those seeking affordability in housing. In January 2024 the median list price for a home in Spartanburg is $297,000, with the median price of new listings
only $225,000.

#2. Climate: The weather here in Spartanburg is much like the rest of the south, with hot, humid summers and chilly, wet winters. In the winter, snow is not much of an issue here in the Hub City. If snowflakes do fall, they either don’t stick or they melt within a day. Don’t worry, we
