i love those dex boxes, last week at the madison wisconsin magicfest/grand prix a really nice gentleman gave me a nice $7-$10 deck box for free and it's amazing. sure i'm a little biased but even my friends say it looks to be great quality before i tell them it was free so ye

disappointed in ultimate guard on this one, especially since they have the strongest magnets in their flip box

I don't know if you got one from a bad batch or they saw your video and made changes, but I can shake my superhive 550+ for the life of me and it'd still not flip open. I've tried with a few cards and even with 10+ lbs of 8 deckboxes full of sleeved cards, 3 thick playmats and some tokens and the lit still won't budge.

After watching your (awesome)review, it was a concern to me because it was the only case I could easily get at a LGS. The magnets are pretty hardcore and take some force to separate. There are 5 points, so the lit is held together with 10 strong magnets.

So taking in consider the rest of your mentioned features, I must say that I'm pretty content with this gadget and it deserves a much higher grade IMHO. 😁

I don’t carry my super hive upside down so I don’t run into the problem shown here. I just put it in a bag and go about my day with no issues from it lol

I disagree about the super hive, paired with bolder deck boxes it's ideal for me as it carries everything I need for playing and the magnets aren't an issue since it goes from my backpack to flat on the table they're never tested. Ofcourse different people have different needs but I've used mine exclusively since the day it first arrived at my lgs and it's served me well

Does dex protection supreme game chest have a compartement for a playmat ?

The superhive now has better magnets. I put a bunch of silverware in mine and it didn't bust open at all, and the silverware didn't damage the inside. (I probably got lucky though, don't try this)

I wonder how many of his cards the professor has damaged just to show us which products work best. Thank you Professor, we all appreciate your lessons!

Why does dex protection strong magnet this giant box, but not their smaller ones? My smaller deck box also is tearing at the bending part pretty badly after only light use :/

My wife and I got a pair of dexpro 1 row game chests and we absolutely love them. Wish we had more opportunities to use them.

This video saved me money and headache. I needed something for the card kingdom starter cube I purchased (thanks for that recommendation too TCC) and I would have gone with a brand name ultimate guard choice over dex protection had it not been for this review. I am very happy with the "one row" I picked up as it is perfect for this need. I give this review an A+.

too bad the first one didn't have stronger magnets it would fit all my mtg needs i have 5 edh decks a standard deck a mat and my commanders are in toploaders. I also carry tokens and dice.

While the Supreme Chest looks absolutely beautiful, I think the SuperHive satisfies my needs better. And realistically nobody's gonna be shaking the box like that lol thank you for the great review though!

Professor, Anything than can hold 675-685 single-sleeved(Dragon shield)? Ultimate guard superhive says it can hold 650+ single sleeved. You think it could hold more like 680? Ty

I have the superhive and I love it! I can bring all my decks with me easily in their boulder cases, and honestly have never faced a situation where it has been turned upside down, so never noticed its lackluster magnets lol

They're charging how much?! For the $50 difference between Ultra Pro's weak magnets and Dex's velcro you can honestly buy the velcro and your very own sewing machine to attach it with! The Dex single-row variants look like genuinely good choices for your different needs, but the Dex "Supreme" is nowhere more so than in its price tag :-( Shame, coz it looks like the best candidate for larger cubes.

How many cards would fit in the bottom tray of the chest case?

This is an older video, I doubt you’ll see it. I’m considering getting some of the Dex featured in this video and it appears in similar videos made around the same time as this one. You listed it not fitting deck boxes, yet others say it does. Off experience, do you know if it fits the standard Ultra Pro colored deck boxes? Do you have a newer video or pictures? I apologize if this seems like a lot

I think the prof puts too much emphasis on the shake test for a big box that isn't going to be thrown around by most people. I also don't understand why he doesn't seem to see the utility in having a playmat holder in a deck box - we're carrying both things, having one box to hold both keeps them in one place.

I've had the superhive for a few years now and been happy with it. I don't think I handle it with kid gloves or anything, but I've never had it come open unexpectedly. It'd a big box so you can't really throw it around anyway. It stays closed while vertical in my backpack no problem. I do think they could have made it a bit more compact - the playmat holder is really loose for a playmat tbh. I don't love the vertical dice compartment, it's hard to take out without spilling dice. That's probably my biggest complaint tbh. Also, after two years, mine is splitting slightly on one of the front seams, revealing cardboard internals, which is kind of annoying. Plastic can't be that expensive, right? But still, it's been two years of consistent use, so I guess I can't really complain that it isn't sturdy enough.

For me, I love my super hive as it lets me take all I need for an event in one large box. Multiple decks, dice, and the playmat. I can slide it into my backpack, and because it’s in the backpack, I’m not worried. When I get home, I can take it out and bring it back to the card room.

Their customer service is terrible. I've been trying to return a product for 2 weeks now. They don't respond to emails, calls, or facebook messenger

Does anybody know how many cubeamajigs fit in the bottom compartment of the Dex Protection Supreme Game Chest?

This is the first "low" grade that an ultimate guard deck box product has received isn't it? I think they've been at least B's.

i got a SuperHive for my friend last week and it managed to fit their large deckboxes from other brands just fine. and even with her playmat it still fit some (3) of the cheap 2.99 80card deckboxes ontop of the playmat, just running left to right instead of up and down. i was quite happy with it as they had a LARGE collection of decks and it fit them all with the mat

i would buy 10 more academics/XL from you please continue their production if you at all can! best deck box ever

I like that Dex Supreme Game Chest. I’m mainly interested in having it, if I also had enough of those deck inserts to fill it up for each of my complete decks.
Unfortunately getting enough to fill up the game chest would add another $36
Which is okay, until you get to the magnets which adds some hesitation for me

The supreme game chest has gotten an upgrade. I just purchased one and it seems they now have the same finish on the outside as the DEX protections case and double deck box.

30 years of collecting...and I've tried everything...the best box for my 10,000+ collection is literally a couple white card boxes.

Fair enough....The best deck box I have found is a Bundle box. It fits 100 double sleeved cards with ease....comes with an additional separate box for tokens or dice...seals nicely...and looks cool.

I guess some people just have money to burn. I could buy a $60-$80 deluxe deck box...or buy two bundles that come with deck boxes....each to their own.
