Hey, great tips, just thought I'd chip in. The Guard Towers, the versions in the additional defences. They actually have a little more range compared to the normal ones of the same tier. The main downside is just they have a lot less hp. But they're a great addition behind a wall for any siege weapons you may want to put on them. Trebuchets have some insane range with them. They also don't benefit from the pipe research as another downside. Glad to see someone else playing this, been all I've been playing since they released the campaign.
Ответитьgood tips, but i dont understand how you are not in a deficit for food? im always needing to have like 10 farms going and it looks like you're feeding everyone with just 2?
Ответитьon your housing set up can builders get to the fountains to upgrade them?
ОтветитьGreat tips thank you! Been trying to improve in this game to beat my personal best in Endless mode and these will come in handy.
Just want to let you know that your microphone seems to be in some feedback loop and that is why you get that tincanny sort of sound IIRC. Basically it's hearing itself when you're speaking into it. All the best!
My balista are not shooting the enemie i have to put them onver the wall ?
ОтветитьHow to get a steady influx of builders? One day I have +20 the next +0.
ОтветитьKnight pair with horsearcher are best as backsupport. The explosive arrow can cut small unit like butter.
ОтветитьIf instead of a donut, i make a subway foot long, making a fountain sandwich, would the overlapping fountains not increase housing density, and let you build in a direction that you know will be available? or is it more dense to stick with the donut?
ОтветитьI'd say there's few bad advises. First, don't worry about stone at all, build as much as you reasonably need, upgrade once you can spare some resources, as you'd have infinite stone soon enough. Secondly, it's better to have trebuchets closer to wall. The way you placed them - they WONT hit enemies, they'll hit your walls (luckily, without damaging them). So you just loosing a large area of coverage. Besides that, trebuchet will switch to enemies it can hit, further away. So, if you have a row of towers with trebuchets on top, they will cover each other. Though it's better to have them on second row of towers. I.e. first row is for archers/crossbowmans/ballistas, second row immediately behind the first - trebuchets. Can place second row towers directly adjacent to the first row, just leave at least one tile gap between towers of the same row to have access. I personally make the second row of guardtowers, since they're much cheaper and it's unlikely to breach the wall and the wall of towers at the same time. At least at the time when it would become a real possibility, you should have enough resources to upgrade guardtowers to stone towers. Also, guardtowers provide additional range bonus compared to stone towers, which is again nice when you have trebuchets closer to frontline, as it gives significantly more time to bombard the wave.
About traps - do not place them directly near the wall, as it's too late to slow down anything. Place them where ranges of your ballistas, crossbowmans and trebuchets overlay - this would be the most effective use.
Distractors are nice idea, will try that, but I think it would be better to make them of wood and place them in a few rows, like dragon's teeth fortification.
One advice you missed is watchtowers, especially tier two. It's hard to overstate how important the early warning is, even if it's just few seconds - that's few seconds might be just enough to reassign some of your troops more appropriately to the direction of the attack. Sometimes it's not that obvious where the wave would be advancing, and you might misplace your units. Watchtowers are dirt-cheap and they allow you to clearly see the direction of the attack early on.
Another advice is to place highly armored melee units like knights or spearman or even both (as spearman are able to hit enemy from second row) either along and in front the wall or right behind gates, so you can quickly dispatch them outside, and place some healers along with your crossbowman on towers. They do way more damage than crossbowman, and with healers they can last really long.
