The art work collection is fantastic!!! Thanks.
Pozdrawiam.
Ответить@bambi68735 Witam i dziekuję za miły wpis :-) Pamiętam z dzieciństwa demonstrację shimmy w wykonaniu mojej matki chrzestnej tzw. cioci Maryli, przedwojennej bywalczyni Morskiego Oka. Można to sprawdzić w filmikach w YT.
Ответить@RobinPratt There are so many absolutely smashing paintings by the whole array of American geniuses of painting from the first half of the XXth century! I hadn't the least problem to make a fair selection of pictures illustrating the city life of America, in the 1920-40s. Thank you!
No i skasowało mi cały wpis :-(( Przepraszam.
Ответить@dzheger Those drawings of Martin Lewis are gorgeous! And the paintings of Reginald Marsh and Sloan, who - next to Hopper and Grant Wood - belong to my absolute favorits in the XXth century art.
Terrific paintings of NYC in the old days. Sloan is particularly impressive; nobody could paint those scenes these days. They're better than photographs at reviving what is gone.
Ответить@dzheger Thanks for reminding me of that name! I just went through some of his works. Terrific!! For sure I will come back to him and will think how to let some of his works go with my music. Thanks again!
Another winner , Mr. G
I love this song; have the Dorsey Brothers' equally charming, though less spritely, version in my own collection. Absolutely smashing representations of evening activities, with many anticipating the look of Film Noir.
One of those lovely cottage at the end of the lane songs so popular in the 20's!
Ответить@Trombonology Thank you for your excellent observation! Yes, yes, that's exactly what I only sensed looking at these night time drawings by Hopper or Lewis or the predatory pictures of the night people's faces by Marsh! That just what you wrote: the "film noir anticipation"
Ответить@knarf826 THANK you !!! :))

Excellent!!!
My parents married in 1929. It is so good to hear the music they danced to as both were wonderful dancers and late teens. I was born 1942 and heard all Jan's orchestra and Ted Weems on our old floor standing tube radio. Refreshing. Thank you for posting. 🎶💃🕺🎶
A marvelous montage, good show!
They are good. Something about the sound of that time.
