ОтветитьJust watched this at the request of my son who has OCD, severe anxiety, and Aspergers. The video is very informative and spoken in such a way that makes it easy to understand.
Ответитьcould someone please add finnish subtitles?
ОтветитьPiglet is one of my favourites. Assume that you have none of these conditions until you are diagnosed by a qualified specialist. I was diagnosed as a child with major depression; at 84, I still have it. But I have kept in employment, my wife of 50+ years is still by my side, and I have 3 wonderful daughters, all with careers of their own. I don't call myself ill, but disabled, like a competitor in the Disabled Olympics. They are my heroes.
ОтветитьMy OCD is why we could't keep our dog. I tried and I just couldnt I felt like I let my family down because they really wanted one. For example I would often explode in tears when the pup would like me or the kids it drove me MAD
ОтветитьBad video! OCD is so much more than washing hands!!!
ОтветитьGreat 👍
Hindi language??
i need to send this to my dad. we get in arguments because he says you can “be ocd about __” for example, laundry needs to be done or it’ll stress you out.
but that’s literally NOT TRUE
I'm so glad that certain things were addressed here. Stop using the terms of "disorders" as buzzwords to appear cool. No, it's NOT OCD if you're a clean freak. No, it is NOT anxiety if you feel fear for a few minutes.
Ответитьocd has ruined a great portion of my life. i wish people would take shit seriously.
ОтветитьHi
ОтветитьI was diagnosed with "unspecified anxiety disorder" could you do a video on that
ОтветитьAll my life anxiety has caused me to be misunderstood and because of it people assumed wrong opinions and didn't like me. Sad!
ОтветитьThank you for making my BA Counseling Psychology fun to learn, I always know where to go, to get the otherwise complex topic broken to easy bites, fun presentation and a very fast speaking teacher, so i have to sit on the edge of my sit per lesson. Thank you very much
🤗🤗
I have deipnophobia which is a fear of eating in a public place or in front of strangers. As you know, we often eat out with coworkers, classmates or new acquintances. And it is really hard to even drink coffee in front of them. I know it's not the end of the world. But it's really stressful, dysfunctional and i end up not eating or eat really weird even though at home, or with my close friends, i am totally fine. I really want this to be gone.
ОтветитьThanks for the tips! There are many great ways to manage anxiety, the 21rst century curse, but has existed since the beginning of time! This is one of my favorite mantras, "All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well"...from the 13th century English monk Julian of Norwich, England! Hasn't been around that long for nothing because it works! In fact, King Charles the Third had it on the beautiful hand embroidered screen at his recent magnificent, beautiful coronation! Keep the faith no matter what your personal beliefs are!
ОтветитьI have Generalized Anxiety disorder and substance use disorder. SUD is deadly but way easier to control than GAD! Anxiety just exists, it cant fo anything, but it has shaped who i am as a person. I would be living a way cooler life right now if I didnt avoid everyone and everything 😂
ОтветитьHaving anxiety while watching this. What’s new folks
Ответитьwell explained !! Thank you :)
ОтветитьI was listening to “wash her hands so often” while washing my hands
ОтветитьI have a fear of anger, I get anxious when people fight and yell like my mom and brother, it’s so bad that I get anxious when they have a simple debate as they always seem to know how to push each other’s buttons, but I also don’t want to invalidate their feelings so I don’t know how to talk about it
ОтветитьI have OCD and anxiety and I don't wish it on my worst enemy. You don't want any of that smoke. Trust me.
ОтветитьWhy is piglet on here? And not eeyore?!
ОтветитьThank you for making this video. It helped me and I’m sure it helped a lot of others.
ОтветитьYeah... At least your phobia doesn't make kids roll on the ground laughing at you... I have leporiphobia. I can't even leave my house till after Easter. I have a very visible reaction when it's a real one. I stop breathing, start shaking, turn beet red from head to toe (what you can't see is my blood pressure skyrocketing... Then drops), suddenly all the color drains from me and at this point if I am very lucky, I have been known to faint. No one's ever laughed when they see it happen. I just use my example whenever there is a child that needs help calming down when they are fearful or experiencing anxiety. It makes my blood pressure shoot up and I turn a milder shade of red, but it has never failed to calm a kid down.
ОтветитьPlease do one on autism and adhd
ОтветитьMore people need to watch this video because many people are ignorant on this issue. Thank you for the video.
ОтветитьDamn now this is making me question if I have any psychological trauma from my childhood, as I was diagnosed with a panic disorder at the age of 12
ОтветитьWhy does 2015 Hank look like Steven Halking?
ОтветитьI am a college student and i know i am am smart but my anxiety makes me lock up unable to learn sometimes and do well on exams in certain classes. I have a bio exam and the fear of failure and paralyzing anxiety and feeling like I am stupid and worthless makes me feel extreme fatigue and disappointment in myself.
Ответитьdude you need to add spaces between your sentences for ppl to grasp what you are saying.
ОтветитьAnxiety is the state of feeling that something is going to happen (even if there is nothing really) and that you need to act up
ОтветитьHaha I have that 😀😀😀
ОтветитьCan you explain why people want to smoke, Use tobacco, When you know it’s absolutely stupid
ОтветитьI just thought of a way to explain what anxiety feels like to me. To me, it feels like if I were using Ace bandages to bind my chest (if you don't know what that means, look up "chest binding")
It feels constricting, itchy, and it makes it hard to breathe.
(Don't bind with ace bandages. It's dangerous. I was dumb and desperate.)
I have panic disorder and it’s so hard getting help. I actually find it easier to get help for depression and general anxiety than my panic disorder. Many doctors, therapists, psychiatrists and other mental health specialists are ill equipped to deal with it, making panic disorder a very lonely issue, as well as PTSD too. I have both and it’s been very lonely and scary having both. Even medication doesn’t help me all the time which makes this worse. I wish people were better educated on it
ОтветитьGeneralized anxiety disorder is like hearing the boss battle music but the boss is no where to be seen
ОтветитьThank you x100 for sharing this and taking the time to compile the authentic truth and reality of what so many people experience on a daily basis.
Ответитьmental problems are silent killers. the normies dont truly understand it. the outside pressure is real. and life is so easy actually, but then where are those issues all coming from. almost unbarable.
tics, obsessive handwashing, afraid to leave the house, addictions, depression, memory issues... how does one end up here in the first place?!
Thank you for making this video. I first watched this video 6 years ago when I was first trying to figure out a name for the symptoms that I was experiencing. My parents wouldn’t get me professional treatment. I remember watching this video and trying to quantify my anxious episodes and thinking that I would never get help.
I got diagnosed with GAD and OCD a year ago and I’ve been getting treatment and medication ever since. Thank you for being there for me when no one else was willing to. It really means a lot.
Another wonderful video, but I think there is an important distinction to make: OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) is characterized by compulsive rituals that alleviate an overwhelming anxiety (e.g. I must touch the doorknob three times to keep my family safe.). OCPD (obsessive-compulsive personality disorder) manifests in perfectionism and the desire for control over one's environment, typically resulting in a hyper-fixation on orderliness (e.g. Every tassel in my living room rug must be straight, because everything under my control must be perfect.). Also, people with OCPD, which is a personality disorder, typically don't even realize that they are suffering from atypical behavior, believing their mannerisms to be logical, whereas most people with OCD, a mental disorder, are painfully aware of the ridiculousness of their actions.
ОтветитьPure OCD doesn't involve compulsions. Just persistent appearance of and rumination on unwanted thoughts.
Ответитьjust found out by self diagnosing that i do have ocd, i just basically got better at handling my obsessive disorders now than i did before.
ОтветитьBeing neat and clean does not mean you have ocd if there was a disorder for just being neat and clean disorders would be a lot less serious
ОтветитьI love your videos and you make class sooooo much better I have ADHD and OCD and Anxiety so yeah and other health issues so lol taking a psych class has been interesting.
ОтветитьThe waitlists for psychiatrists in my area are 14+ months long. Been waiting to see my doctor for four months, because there aren’t even telehealth video call times available. I am just rawdogging life and I can hardly function it has gotten so bad. It’s so hard to live with anxiety.
Ответитьbro i have ocd and nervous ;-
ОтветитьHank makes me feel safe
ОтветитьCertainly less anxiety-provoking to play it at 0.75 speed. My man talks too quickly
Ответить
