Thank you so much for these. Lifelong Reds fan that grew up in upstate NY. Reminds me of the summer nights in my yard as a kid being able to get WLW on my radio later at night if the conditions were just right :-)
ОтветитьDo you have any footage/audio of Dickie Thon breaking up Tom Browning's Perfect game on 4th of July 1989?
ОтветитьAwesome... thanks for the upload!
ОтветитьThank you for this. Joe and Marty were so wonderful together, and I think Joe would approve of the Cowboy's work with Marty as well. Tommy's growing on me quickly, too. Cheers!
ОтветитьAll told, while the actual game was played in less than two hours with nine innings (too difficult to do these days with those umpire challenges), it took over four hours to even start it (since it was raining in Cincinnati), and then see Tom Browning throw the perfect game--the only man born in Wyoming ever to pitch a no-hitter (lol)!
ОтветитьGreat to hear Marty and joe on the call
Marty is the best I’ve heard behind the mic
Marty Brennaman (PBP) & Joe Nuxhall (C) 1-2/5-6/8-9
Nuxhall (PBP) 3-4/7
Umpires
HP Jim Quick
1B Mark Hirschbeck
2B John Kibler (Crew Chief)
3B Eric Gregg
Wanna help me solve a question? Vin Scully passed away. They say he called 3 perfect games. Don Larsen. Sandy Koufax. Dennis Martinez. I don't know why they aren't adding Tom Browning's perfecto to the list. I remember listening to this game but maybe Scully didn't do play by play that day. Which I find strange.
ОтветитьRIP MR PERFECT
ОтветитьThank you so much for posting this. You are a hero
