Believe it or not, there's a Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode which this movie was based off of.
The protagonist even share the same names.
Only the antagonist is played by the devil or a demon, instead of two Wall Street hustlers.
Boomers explaining the world. Still actual
ОтветитьNutshell!
ОтветитьThis explains why US and EU HATE China and Russia. US/EU can't Speculate on prices of commodities if China and Russia control majority of Commodity production and commodity Markets. Please see BRICS.
Ответитьgod that look at the camera always got me, even as a kid xD
ОтветитьThe fourth wall break gets me every time.
ОтветитьAccording to democrats, blsc people don't know what a computer is 😂
ОтветитьWilliam's smile reminds me of Kramer's smile when Mel Torme was singing to him on Seinfeld.
ОтветитьThe look to camera is done so perfectly that the second the scene continues you are instantly back in the moment! I’ll never tire of this film.
ОтветитьBut they did lose money.
ОтветитьIt's the 4th wall break that makes this scene...
ОтветитьHey forest, this what we do. Yup.
ОтветитьTy for fownload!
ОтветитьMaya Gold is a Mike Oldfield track on Tubular Bells Two.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьWhich you might find in a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich 😳
ОтветитьThe stock market is no different than gambling. Never mind Sin City- the real action is in the Big Apple!
ОтветитьSo basically they're betting on wins and losses. Obviously they're figuring out sucess based upon drought, workers strikes, government policies, and so on but it's just damn bets.
Ответитьin conclusion, the brothers play with their clients money
they dont care if the clients lose or win money
the brothers take 0 risks and gain a lot of money on the clients back
yup, they deserve to be punished at the end of the movie lol
by the way, this scene is a good way to explain how corrupted wall street is really
When he looked at the imaginary audience 😅😅😂.
ОтветитьFun fact: that moment when Eddie Murphy breaks the forth wall, inspired Nick Park to use it in Wallace and Gromit's A Grand Day Out when Gromit looks into the camera.
ОтветитьSounds to me like you guys are a couple of bookies😂
ОтветитьWho be putting they Kohl's out on my flo... one of the greatest lines in cinematic history
ОтветитьPork bellies which is used to make bacon what you might find in a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich😂😂😂❤❤
ОтветитьNot really though. Don't bookies suffer a loss even when their clients succeed?
ОтветитьI don't see how pork bellies could be considered agrocultural products
ОтветитьHe basically got a free education in Wall Street from the very top. The guys that get mentioned in the books. No student is ever that lucky. They read the books but it takes time to learn the actual rules of the game and many crash and burn.
ОтветитьIs there something wrong officers?
Ответить"I told you he'd understand."
Ralph Bellamy once read a script, where a character was described as "A likable, but dim, Ralph Bellamy type".
He immediately told his agent, to only get him edgier roles. Rosemary's Baby. Trading Places, et all.
The guy's an all-timer!
There are certain jokes that stay stained in your memory forever. Him starring at the camera like that was the funniest shit I ever seen in my life at the time 🎥 😐
Ответить0.27 eddies look when Randolph said blt sandwich
ОтветитьThese two have to be based on Waldorf and Statler surely?
ОтветитьMortimer's face: "Fuck, he's right"
ОтветитьThis Classic is still so insightful and ahead of its time! Swap most real people nowadays (CEOs, Financial Brokers, whatever) as the Director did and it will result in more minorities or less advantageous people having self-worth introduced in their lives and equally important diligently and genuinely taking advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of being in a Professional environment where Respect is reciprocated that most financially successful and/or stable people have either earned or have been laid out for them through nepotism.
Foreshadowing movie line was when the Duke Bros explained commodities to Billy Ray and they asked him what he thought: “well it seems to me like y’all are a couple of bookies” and the Duke Bros confirm to themselves that he understood. Hahahaha even if I’m not laughing out loud watching this scene, I’m belligerently cracking-up on the inside of me. Classic!
"This is all MY stuff right? This is mine? And this too??"
ОтветитьI love how he doesn't believe William will understand pork bellies, nor even bacon
ОтветитьIt's funny how they tell you right to your face but you're still not listening
ОтветитьAG-reichkluturalYy goods🖕🏿
ОтветитьAt it's base rate, they are more or less legal bookies but back then, buying and selling on a stock market wasn't very straight forward. Brokers understood the ins and outs and saved the buyer the hassle of all that, for a fee.
It's also amazing that to this day, anyone who really really understands all the loopholes of where to put and and remove money from can make a tremendous amount of money...the key is finding out that info and working hard to make it happen. There are no lazy millionaires on wall street despite what Bernie Sanders would have you believe.
Mortimer, your brothers not well!
Fuck him!
😂
Wall Street, bookies, city of London, bookies Frankfurt bookies Tokyo bookies Hong Kong, bookies, making money whether you win or lose
ОтветитьWhenever I watch the movie, I think of them as the live action Statler and Waldorf
ОтветитьThey forgot Ethereum. Yeah, It's a commodity.
Ответитьfrozen orange juice?
Ответитьthe 4th wall break was good haha
Ответить
