Given that the Villain in this is Samuel Sterns - the Leader a bad guy from Hulk comics and a cameo in the 2nd Hulk movie by Tim Blake Nelson I'm guessing as Leader is a formidable Telepath , Psychic that is why Isiah tries to kill the President.

These days, there are valid reasons to have doubts over Marvel movies, but there are also sections of the internet ether that just start baseless rumors for the thrill of it. I remember when people were saying the exact same thing about Deadpool and Wolverine. That it was terrible, that Hugh had fallen out with Disney and vowed never to work with them, that Ryan was about to quit, that test screenings were awful. All of these were baseless lies started on the internet to fuel the fire under Disney. Just ignore it until you know for yourself what the truth is.

the movie although with a different Captain America still retain why Captain America: first Avenger and Captain America: Winter Soldier movies had a more Spy thriller vibe and I'm here for it!...... Now that I'm thinking about it Secret Invasion was also Spy thriller and it was the worst Marvel show to ever exist... I'm talking 1990s captain America movie kind of bad!
