I do want to do BJJ, but theres so many damn people and im a shy guy so...
ОтветитьThe problem isn't starting, the problem is surviving. Too many bad injuries. Unless you wouldn't practice sport otherwise, or you are super passionate, it's not worth the damage.
ОтветитьI always wanted to start but im obese that is what keeping me away. anybody who is bigger and trains BJJ that has any tips or is this just for people in shape?
ОтветитьYeah no not for me. I prefer striking arts. I know most fights go to ground so I should learn some bjj but there’s something about starting a bout on your ass that’s just so silly looking. I’m sure the training is more fun than it looks but I’d rather train Muy Thai.
ОтветитьThat me for your vid. I’m looking to start.
What’s your view on Gracie Barra gyms?
He brought up one of the best parts of all contact sports: (1) it's really fun, and (2) it requires 100% of your attention unless you want to get hit/kicked/pinned/etc. You have no choice but to live completely in the moment. And at the end of the day, you're always a slightly more capable person in terms of being able to defend yourself.
ОтветитьConvince the economy I need more money for bjj
Ответитьi don’t want to drag my ass over the floor sorry.
ОтветитьThe most useless martial art on this planet. Find yourself in a street fight and imagine thinking “Damn, let me mount this guy, maybe I’ll get 2 points?” Ffs, I can’t believe so many people waste their lives learning this when they can just learn boxing, Karate or Muay Thai and get fit and learn to kick ass… Only law enforcement would benefit from learning nonsense like this, because they need to subdue criminals. For civilians, this is an absolute, disgusting waste of time
ОтветитьI’m starting soon but I’m scared of neck injury or snapping it and getting paralyzed
ОтветитьI’m convinced
ОтветитьBJJ (Basically just Judo) or advanced newaza, I enjoy upsetting people 🤣
Ответитьnothing will :)
Ответитьwhat knee sleeves do you use?
ОтветитьBJJ is such a great sport.
I can see everyone’s comments about how they’ve been injured and I’ve been there too.
But how many people in here can honestly say they stretch properly to balance the body?
Because I don’t.
And I’m consciously aware of that. So if you love the sport and want to avoid more injuries we just gota pick our partners and put the reps in with our stretches (just like drilling) 🤙
I just signed in for my first ever BJJ lesson big ups for in the inspo ✨
ОтветитьI'm 39 and just signed up for bjj. First visit tomorrow 🫣
ОтветитьVery much interested but closest martial arts gym is 36km away. Got a small boxing club nearby, i think I'll go for it. Atleast I've made a promise to myself that i will, within the next 3 months. And we'll see what we find in University, cuz they've martial arts clubs i guess.
ОтветитьI still dont get how this video will comvince me to to do bjj .i am a boxer
Ответитьseems like such a good energi in that room. <3
ОтветитьWas a complete bum at 22. Joined bjj and it gave me the sauce I needed in life. Now I just got my blue belt last weekend and have a successful ecom brand. If you are a young man, you need this
ОтветитьYeah, like I said the last video, I watched all sorts of knee problems and joining issues. This is not a martial art for people that want to get in shape and have camaraderie.
Ответить42 years old & will definitely be starting in January.
ОтветитьTried Bjj gave up as my belly was so big I could not do the moves
ОтветитьLim biscuit
ОтветитьBeen rolling for 3 weeks now since watching your video. It was the last bit of convincing I needed and I’m enjoying it so far. Great feeling being such a beginner again and knowing you’re not necessarily trying to hurt the other person. Random question: where are your shorts from? 😂❤️
ОтветитьYour videos are great. I started BJJ about three months ago and I love it. I won't compete (that's not my thing) but I have a great coach and a gym of awesome people. It also helps that your accent is similar to Neil Newbon's ^_^
ОтветитьBJJ a sport over martial art and is just the cool kid in town. Has so many shortfalls. Its only ok when combined with a good striking martial art.
Not dissing it because its a good work out and handy if you want to cuddle on the floor. And no UFC/MMA isnt a real fight. It has rules like every other sport
Jiujitsu: the gentle art of folding clothes while people still in them. Involuntary joga.
Ответитьboxing kickboxing and muay thai are better anyway for combat athletics.
ОтветитьI've started dozens of times, just didn't continue because most gyms focus on sports not self defense.
ОтветитьDid jujitsu for 2, stopped and now judo for 2 years, I started out as a self defence enthusiast early on but forgot about it, it is all for fun, I may know a few moves but all I care about is the mats your comment on it ringed so true to me
ОтветитьAny advice to overcome social anxiety with Jiu Jitsu? I'm enrolled in a class but almost always struggle due to anxiety. 😮💨
ОтветитьGuard pullers aren't acceptable hahaha
ОтветитьWatched it and the knee pads have made me quit.
ОтветитьI would love to try this sport but I am a big lad (don't mean fit like these guys) and i worry if my "body type" would fit in plus I have asthma so my breathing can be rather loud, I have played a sport to a decent level in the UK, American football, but this would be completely different to anything I have done before, I wonder if you did this before you left for Australia, I live in the town next to your home city and wonder if you can recommend anywhere to go and try this out because the thing i miss most about sport is the banter the comradery between everyone going for the same or similar goals, it becomes part of who you are, anyway another great video, stay strong
ОтветитьCool video - these are many of the reasons why I've been doing this since 2012. The only thing I regret is not doing it earlier... I started quite late than most at 27.
ОтветитьI just started judo again, gonna go at least once a week. Going to look for people i can do extra ground grappling/bjj with outside of the lessons.
Iv been doing boxing for decades, this is a nice addition
I started Jiu Jitsu 3 days after watching this video
Ответить5 year white belt, waiting on blue someday. Our gym has insane standards, any visiting blue gets absolutely floored by our average white belt. Best sport out there, the hard work is rewarding
ОтветитьHow do you balance strength training and BJJ? I found I was exhausted all the time, trying to do both.
I don't want to be a lanky BJJ guy, but I also don't want to be a buff guy that can't fight
This video made me finally sign up! 5th class tonight 😇
Ответитьthis is a really good video like generally this was fun to watch for people that have thought about starting bjj
Ответить41 years old, 5 years in, I train 5 to 6 hours a week. I love it. Best thing I ever did in my life. It is therapeutic and keeps you fit.
You will make many friends... and remember if you get too much damage, go lighter, ask your partner to go lighter, have fun, and be a good partner.
Gave it a go buy found BJJ just takes too much time up to even be at a decent standard for it. The time input to what the output is just isnt worth it unless you have zero other hobbies/sports and minimal social life. (I train boxing, table tennis, work landscaping, play music gigs on the weekend, camp/hike most weeks etc)
