I think the 5 from last Saturdays line up that will be in the Championship are Arthur Okonkwo, Max Cleworth, Sam Smith, Ryan Longman, Eoghan O'connell, Brunt and Dobbson are a toss up. McClean is too slow, so is Matty James.

How many of the current contracts/loans expire after this season and how many of those players are good enough to play in the Championship?

If we got promoted again I’m afraid most players would be gone in the new season

I think they will already be looking at who they could buy

The jump up in level is massive to be competitive in the championship

We would need some big names who are young and play for their price point

I’d even expect Parky to possibly go if I’m honest. Don’t forget the investment we have already had and who else they could draw in

I think rob and Ryan would go all out at the championship too

If we do get there I really do believe we could draw some big players too at that level

I’d even say it would be mind blowing how many would want to come if they do push recruitment

I think we would need to promote first - anything could happen

I think though that there’s probably 5 players that could play in the championship and survive

Smith
Barnett
Longman
Cleworth
Rathbone

Maybe Dobson ( he makes a lot of mistakes )

Wrexham have a pretty good balance now , age may chase a couple out but major changes may not be necessary . Just another year of gaining depth of talent should suffice to avoid dropping back .

Liam that’s a tremendously well-made video mate. Good job. I hope you can make it up at the first time of asking. it’ll be tough but the extra revenues are gonna be crucial. Even rob and ryan can’t simply wave their magic wand and buy a place in the PL

Not a Wrexham fan but interested in the story and after watching the game on Saturday, was a poor standard from both teams, they'll need to spend a lot.

If Smith and Rodriguez get comfortable together and start clicking they will get promoted but they will need help from other teams taking points from the likes of Wycombe and Charlton. The schedule favors them the rest of the season with only Charlton and Stockport being major road blocks. they definitely do not want to go into a playoff

Not sure the sponsorship revenue will go up a lot from now. I’m in America and Wrexham is already the most exposed team in the EFL here. Only Premier League teams are better known and shown more.

Wanting another year in league 1 would be logical, in normal circumstances, but is just silly, in this case. If wrecsam does not get promoted, there will not be another season of the show. That means less exposure, far less ad revenue, and less investment into the club, on the pitch and off.

Odds of further success decrease exponentially, without promotion this season. Unless your desire is to remain in league 1 forever, wanting to be in there next season, is irrational.

So with 9 games to go, Wrexham's opponents have a table position average of 14.3, and Wycombe's opponents have an average position of 9.8. We have 2 matches against top 10 teams (4th and 5th). They have 6 against top 10 teams... 4-5-6-7-8-9. We'll BOTH drop points in those last 9 matches. It's quite the run-in for both squads. If we take care of business, we "should" be able to outpoint Wycombe in those last 9 matches. We don't likely overtake them in GD, but you never know, a 5-0 ripping win can change things fast. This team hasn't looked like a 5 goal scoring squad in quite some time, however.

I do think we need to raise how goal scoring count, if we want that automatic promotion. we’re barely scraping through in most matches, we do tend to improve late in the seasons & I hope this true this time around. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

welcome to wrexham was just a key catalyst of teams transformation. As the team moves up in leagues, match broadcast money increases - Championship / Premier, I wonder if the show becomes less feasible - as showing actual match footage in the show could have licensing limitations or extra costs, and could the show give competitors advantage? Or does the show shift to work around it.

*im not saying the show is solely responsible. On its own it likely would have limited effect, but it definitely help amplify the team's growth. Maybe if they make the championship - the jump in funds and broader league coverage - replaces the boost welcome gives the club?

Interesting discussion point regards whether it’s a good idea for Wrexham to be promoted this season. I’d probably say yes…but expect to do an Oxford, Derby, Portsmouth etc. There are a lot of big clubs up there with big finances, so even with Wrexham’s backing it would still be really tough. However instead of steady slow progression if there’s a chance of promotion you have to grasp it with both arms, sink or swim, you never know.
