Don't worry about biodiesel. I don't know the temperature it will get down to where you live, anyway, pure diesel is easier/safer for your application. Bio can give you (more) headake. It may give you problem with slush, and for that little amount you're using, I don't think it's worth it.

Looks like you fitted the filter the wrong way. On many of these, there is an arrow for the correct way of flow. The fuel should flow into the "outside" of the filter, thereby going through the filterelement from the outside and in. This way you can see how dirty it is and when it's time to change ;)

Once again a great video from you :)

I like that Idea, heating up an ev is a issue that can be fixed with diesel burners.

Great Job! - How have the nuts and bolts been? I use nylon insert nuts whenever I add anything to my LEAF. I have a friend who did something similar in 2014 with his iMiev it the tank and heater Is in the engine compartment and he pipped in the heat vent through the firewall and connected it to the existing duct work. So heating the windshield and his feet was very easy to do.

Can you please tell me if you parking heater is still working. I'm thinking of buying one and using it as a parking heater for my Mitsubishi L300 camper van. I can't afford and expensive one, so I have been looking at these copies. Do you think they are a good thing or not now that you have had it a while and used it. Thank you for your help...

This is totally ill-logical idea to install Diesel based electric heater in EV, it will create pollution. It is better if u install Silicon baesd electric heater in u r EV, which will not create pollution like Diesel one.

Nice now you got me to thinking, i think i will try to mount a gasoline air heater and use ethanol to it, little less co2 out of exaust pipe on that, i have 60 to 80km in winter and 120km in summer on my car and sometimes i need 110km in winter i have drive 110km in winter with heater on 16c and only heat on windshield and floor and fan on speed 2 and drive 60km/h but if i have a gosoline heater maybe i can drive 110km on little higher speed and have nice and warn in the car.

Glad to see you made a visit to US, I'm just a mile from one of the Tesla HQ's. I didn't see your style of diesel heater, I liked the fact that the tank was small compared to what else is out there. Any tips on where to purchase from or what to search?

Nice video. Why do you drive electric when combustion is such a great option? 55 miles doesn't seem like something you should have to worry about. Combustion gets great range, and fuels up in no time unlike electrics. Even teslas, and then teslas cost so much money.

If you have to use fossil hydrocarbons, then use heating oil (kerosine). In the UK, it's a quarter of the price of road fuel diesel.

Propane fuelled heaters are actually less expensive.
Though just seen a self contained Chinese diesel heater for less than £100

cool setup. I'd be tempted to leave the exhaust sticking out from under the car so the hot toxic exhaust fumes can't rise up into the car although they shouldn't anyway if everything's sealed well.

for the windshield I dont think you need to add a fan, cant you just turn your car heater on so its on "fan only" mode usually by putting the temperature setting in the middle, and turning on the recirculating mode

I know this is old, but the heater needs a power source, so you would be using some of your battery charge to power this. The question is, how does it affect range?
