Such a great intro tune, please promise to never change it
Ответить256x224, while optional I was disappointed so many games were running that low, puts a kink in my 240p was the standard after 3DO belief. ^_^ Glad I came late enough to miss the hardware failure of the platform but I still had RCA jacks. Is Tomba cheaper in Japan, keeps getting more expensive for the NA version? Nice title choices on display here. :)
ОтветитьBefore play the video, I clicked MORE in Information an I see the list of games ¿what? Ok, prepare lunch, drink, take a goooood seat and PLAY :)
ОтветитьThe US PS1 games originally came in giant boxes for the first year or so until they went with CD-size jewel cases from then on.
ОтветитьTomba was released in the US.
ОтветитьI saw this video this morning but woke up too late and had to head to work. Nice surprise to remember when I got home. Thanks!!
ОтветитьAnother quality video
ОтветитьVery well done~
By the way, maybe in about a week or so, maybe you can do an episode on Cabal-based shooters?
Soul of the Samurai (Rasetsu no Ken) was one I'd always see in used game stores and think "Oh, I'll pick that up some other time", and never did. Now I never see it anywhere.
ОтветитьFirst of all 2 'holy crap!' moments: I had completely forgotten about Star Gladiator even though I had it and played it quite a bit back then. And also had completely forgotten about the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga....
I got my JP PSX back in 95 with Motor Toon GP, Gunners Heaven and Tekken. I never failed me but I did have to tilt it toward the end.
I love your show Mark, it's so nice to be able to see the games in crisp video because I remember the days of RC1 with 320i (if that :P). You've made me add a ton of games to my wishlist over the years and just added 2 more. Rasetsu no Ken and Super Robo Shooting.
Oooh. I'm loving this for sure Mark.
But not as much on what's coming in the mail. That's a 100% video on this own for your channel bro. 8^)
It left San Francisco and on its way to Japan. 8^)
Anthony...
It's nice to see some games I haven't come across before, great video!
A lot of your problems with Kagero get improved upon in later games in the series so they're worth keeping an eye out for if you like the basic premise.
I got a playstation + tekken 2 for my birthday when I was 5 and I remember all my friends were at my birthday party playing outside while I was inside playing it I could'nt stop lol my parents had to come in and get me
ОтветитьTekken 3 still looks great after all these years
ОтветитьTo be safe, it's both Mark. But ones it arrives, it would be all worthwhile. 8^)
Right now it left Osaka, Japan. You should be receiving it soon bro. 8^)
Anthony..
I see it Mark. Maybe this can by you some time for you to be home for it.
Anthony..
Tomba! was also released in North America cause i used to rent the game at the video store.
ОтветитьRidge Racer Revolution <3
Ответитьbit disapoited to the "montage" ... only classics and overviewed wellknown games ... better next time :)
ОтветитьPlaystation was a great system for early FPS as well. Has the best console port of Doom, hands down.
ОтветитьDon't know if you've played it Mark, but London Seirei Tanteidan is a gorgeous JRPG for the PSX. It wasn't released outside of Japan nor got any kind of fan translation, which is hard for a wordy JRPG, but visually and gameplay wise it's incredible.
ОтветитьTotal No.1 was really a thinking man's fighter. Great game.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this one Mark, cheers mate.
ОтветитьI loved Tekken 3. :) Great video as always... :)
ОтветитьThe original PlayStation. My favourite system of all time. I'll love it to death.
ОтветитьWaku waku7
ОтветитьIn Europe we also had those fat jewelcases like in Japan and they fucking suck, they break when you look at them and they are unreplacable literally. I don't understand why they didn't choose for a good ol' jewel case.
ОтветитьWhy there's no subtitles, when I turn it on, on my Xperia iPhone?
ОтветитьCoolBoarders looked so crap when compared to the likes of 1080 degrees snowboarding on the N64.
ОтветитьThis PlayStation Console Games Favorite of the Series The Best!
ОтветитьTomba was one of the first games I played on the PlayStation, and while I've never gotten far, I love it. It's gotten really expensive for a hard copy here in the States, but I got my copy at a game store for $10. The owner mentioned how badly scratched it was, yet it still worked. He either didn't know what he had, or felt bad for me since I had made a long drive.
Side note: Tomba and Tomba 2 were the only two games that Whoopee Camp made. The head of that company was Tokuro Fujiwara, creator of the Ghosts n' Goblins franchise. I guess that would explain why I love it so much.
an excellent round-up, Retro Core!
ОтветитьAwww, the red screen of death ...
ОтветитьPS1 was one of the most badass gaming consoles ever existed.
ОтветитьNo Rival Schools? Kinda surprised to see you not mention that game, seems like your kind of game. EDIT - Nevermind, I see it there at the end. Good show. Fantastic game, one of my favorites from the early PS1 days.
ОтветитьMy spider sense is tingling
ОтветитьI like that reversed Ridge Racer Revolution music.
Ответитьgreat retrospective and choice of games. it might be time to consider the PS2 retro, since it will be 20 years old this year.
Ответитьwhy is there so much 3D?? Why did people want and drool over 3D so much back then?? I dont get it. None of this stands out now days!
ОтветитьHi, very nice video on one of my preferred systems of all time! Just wondering, why could you get a copyright strike on RR music but not on the other games featured? Thanks!
ОтветитьAaaah Brave Fencer Musashiden's soundtrack, what a masterpiece!
Motor Toon Grand Prix and Gunners Heaven were the first 2 games I owned on PSX. Rasetsu no Ken looks awesome!
Can PS1 will play region free game?
ОтветитьI can always depend on you to offer the unique insight on Japanese games!
ОтветитьOnce again this is a phenomenal overview! I loved your Sega cd video and I love this as well.
