First time we shot down one of these in Afghanistan and the 80s they were flying so low and in the valley, we were above the mountain fired in hits the cockpit and from the tops the pilot killed and the helicopter crashed before we were gots the stinger and also these helicopter I don’t know I heard about it end of the tail is very weakness if you hit that also the plane crash

Regarding the rotor hub. It is indeed shared across the model lines of Mi-24/35 and Mi-8/14/17/171. This is due to the fact that Mi-24 was developed using Mi-8 as basis, much like USA had developed AH-1 Cobra using UH-1 Iroquois as basis.
Reason for the dashboard colour is that Soviet doctors found this colour to be soothing and non-irritating for pilots in the widest range of brightness of illumination. It may not look pretty at first glance, but after a long flight, the eyes are less tired.
The fact that you guys don't want to re-activate anti-icing system is surprising to me. If you ever go into northern USA, cold can cause icing on the blades, so it's a matter of not using a flight safety system that's available rather than one day running into trouble and wishing it worked.

This beast could not only fly as a full fledged attack helo but also house 8 man squad in the rear that in turn could also ALL fire out of the side windows while landing or strafing... This should be the counter insurgency top killer helo

Thanks to DCS this helicopter can be flown in perfect photorealistic graphics quality. With perfect air conditioning and electric panels, and everything else is simulated too in the cockpit.
