Hi Karl, I was on TSS 482 short-term Database Administrator visa however it expired this august, and I moved to a spouse visa on my wife's MLTSSL three-year visa (Physiotherapist with limited registration). Currently on bridging as we are waiting for medicals for the above MLTSSL visa. I am still working with the same company. Will I be eligible to apply under these new changes?

How soon expired 485 visa holders can reapply for extension to return back

Party for a few, nothing for the rest.

Wasted a huge chunk of my 485 in lockdowns, unable to work and eating my super and little savings I had.
Got 7 months left on my visa and I have no pathway to stay...... after 6 years.

After 6 years of battle, studying, working and moving quickly... nothing.

If by March-April nothing opens I'll simply start packing my bags and process my papers for Canada, where my occupation is desired and even given priority. But not in laggard Australia.

It'll be really shitty if I have to leave. So much effort and time invested to be thrown back to the ocean. Would definitely be a heart brake to leave my current Australian partner. But if I do, then it's just a reflection of how slow Australia moves.

There's a lot of pressure from businesses and organisations to get workers. Still nothing.

I really hope that all this inaction and slow movement costs Australia thousands of migrants leaving the country and settling somewhere else.
Maybe even one of those, will create a multi-billion dollar company outside, not here, so then Australia will see what is really missing out.

There's a lot of great and talented people in Australia who currently doesn't fit in any of the restrictive pathways in place. But again... inaction.
