Viewing this video is necessary as the directions on the box of plugs are very unclear.  I would have liked to know how many inches to cut the wire back to before inserting. fyi. 

What length of stripping does SEWELL  recommend for these plugs?

They are a loose fit into my USU speaker jacks. Will not insert all the way. They seem longer than the old style plugs I've used in the past (many years ago). Am I missing something? What's with the "ball" tip?

What gauge is that cable? Also, what is its outer diameter with shielding as I want to get a snug fit with these? I need to know this before ordering them?

Instead, they are two and therefore allow oxides to form and cause high impedance between the tip and body as well as between the body and cable. Give me a solid one piece plug into which I can solder the cable (because crimps fail).


Tip: paint deoxit gold conditioner on the wire strands and contact areas before connecting, work it into the tip and body joint and coat the tip and binding post also. This will inhibit oxidation and significantly increase the connections reliable performance life span many fold.

What gauge wire fits into these banana plug deadbolts? I just bought 6 pairs but my wire is too thick. Thanks.

Are the bananas plugs tips copper with gold coating or metal with gold coating??
