We used to take our commercial fishing boat through there when I was longlining 20+yes ago out of Opua, targeting Pink Mao-Mao that thrive around it we once set the longline right through it a couple of times (it was a lot quieter then with not so many tourist boats around). Scuba diving there on one certain occasion a massive Great White came cruising straight up to us quite casually checked us out for a few minutes then got bored with us and left drifting off into the blue...

A beautiful place to spend time and take in the sights.
