just got one off hard rubbish/ Can you believe people discard these in 2024?

I still use Proart 249q . Why not it is better than most new 1080p monitors

I just got this after a month of research and going through multiple bvm crt & pvm colors on old gaming is just flawsless compared to some oled TVs I have and qled this a sleeper

Watching on said screen after buying it from goodwill in practically brand new condition for 25 dollars. Only problem it has is that HDMI does not work.

Im looking for a compromise between my gaming and professional work needs in my new monitor upgrade- which excludes 4k instantly as even my RTX 2080 would struggle to give decent fps with newest games on full settings as i saw around in 4k- and i was eyeing this monitor for a while now.
Im still wondering HOW IT ACTUALLY PERFORMS FOR GAMING. Im generally more interested in big single player eyegasm titles though, some fantasy mmos on the side....
I wonder if i should go for this or a gamer monitor with excellent picture good enough for digital painting and photo editing- IF I CAN FIND ONE, and buy a just for art one later when i start my new job where ill be working on all kinds of ads from screens to banners. If i get this now it must serve the gaming needs for years to come even if i get a bigger art monitor too, which im not sure i REALLY need or would this do, since i have no experience with any the like.
im willing to cough up around 1000$ now. But not sure where to put it.

If anyone has any educated thoughts or experiences to share, im eager for every word.

UPDATE THIS!!! The ASUS PA329Q is out...

i bought this monitor and love it. it does everything i need and more. with that said, i still experience color inacurracies when I export my media and view on iphones. Since the majority of media is viewed on iPhones these days, im thinking of using thunderbolt as my next display. Also, this monitor, weighing 30lbs, is really heavy and I still havent taken the risk to using a clamped desk due to its weight.

it's 2017 and for the price, I can't find something that would beat this....

How bad is the IPS glow in this compared to Asus ROG SWIFT PG279Q for example? Please demo some dark images in a darker ambient light.

Thanks for this. Sadly, I think my video card (GeForce GTX 460) only supports Two Dual Link DVI's and a Mini HDMI. Does that mean I won't experience the full range of this monitor? And if so, do you have another recommendation? Thank you in advance for any help on this!

Is this an older version? the ones i can find with the same name are 4k but the one in this video is 1440p

Would this still be a worthwhile for photo editing, if you do not have a Quadro card? would I still benefit from the 10bit color depth?

You seem to be rather too interested in watching those "shades of grey", Linus  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

my only gripe in regards to this monitor is, its 3 years old and its STILL almost $800, you'd figure that with 4k all the rage that the price would drop more...

HDMI has one use left.... hooking up your PS4 so you can play when your not working.
Then again with a monitor like that its probably pretty bad for gaming.

I want to get into photography. Do i need to buy a new monitor if i want to edit the photos? My current monitor just SUCKS SO FUCKING HARD! It has a viewing angle of 5° (it's really that bad. The colors start to change when i move my head a few inches to one side!), it has horrible ergonomics and it looks ugly.

It is NOT a 14-bit as stated here, it's a 10 bit as stated on their website.

I almost bought this one due to it's colour accuracy above it's bigger brother for it's price point.
