Yeah, this sucks.
The reason the ‘84 version was so cool was because it was the first of its kind. It was exciting to see those musicians of the MTv era come together. I can’t explain how electrifying Band Aid was, or Live Aid and “We Are the World” after it. It was a decade of activist musicians and music for a cause.

Can’t beat the 1984 original, but nice to see some of today’s stars recreate it. Sad to see Liam and 1D, and all the singers who have left this world too soon.

The remix has it's merits. Not as good as the original, but still enjoyable.

My biggest criticism: Paloma Faith's "But say a prayer". It comes in at SUCH an awkward time during the drop- completely out of time- destructive to the flow of the song. The same lyric then being repeated twice by superior singers only makes her inclusion there more unnecessary.

They should have had George lead with that line, with a fainter echo from Robbie following.

Nowadays they are singing about British citizens.

I remember Live Aid like it was yesterday. Seeing the concert live at the time of original broadcast was quite something. I think adding new singers to "Do They Know It's Christmas" is a mistake. The original 1984 version is loved. Why tamper with it? A new band aid song would have been an event. This isn't. Sorry it's thumbs down from me.
