Liberty Breakfast Show-
On Sunday, October 20th, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) announced in a press release that the Sierra Leone U-17 team had been disqualified from the WAFU U-17 tournament after five players failed the MRI age screening in Senegal. However, the SLFA has officially appealed the decision.
In a subsequent statement from CAF, it was confirmed that Sierra Leone has been reinstated into the tournament after a successful appeal and a repeat of the tests. With such issues tarnishing the country's reputation in international football, there is a pressing need to address the root causes to prevent future embarrassments.
