Supercharged J35 Honda Pilot Dyno Runs (AGN tuning Killeen Texas)

Big/heavy wheels and tires really soak up power. About 12yrs ago I helped my buddy put a BBF in his ‘79 F350...it made just over 580hp at the crank N/A...a real ripper. Once in the truck, it was backed by a C6 trans/NP206(i think?) transfer case/Dana 60 rear end/37.5” BFG’s and on the chassis dyno, it could only muster 330hp to the wheels. However, he could punch it from a 60mph roll and break the tires loose. Parasitic loss is a MF. Those wheels and tires on your rig are probably worth 10-15%, EASILY. Keep up the good work!

you cant run the bigger injectors with the neo man your timing will be too high with any boost even 4psi it will eat shit. Ive done this to several MDX and hey pro tip you can run any standalone as a piggy back to run it raw you just wire it so that the factory ecu still thinks its controlling shit but have the stand alone spliced in and directly controlling timing and fueling this gets REALLY complicated with bullshit like resistors and map clamps and missing link to make sure you keep the ecu happy to the point its like not worth the effort. You can also run an AEM FIC if you can find one and it does great to 10psi. At 10psi i went through 3 transmissions in my 07 lmao. Also i saw you have an AFPR? I guess thats how you could actually run those injectors as long as your not pulling fuel via airflow since it hits timing cells meant for low air flow aka the moon and youll knock and die.

You mentioned something about a intake manifold upgrade. Do you mind sharing your knowledge about it? I have a ek9 with a J swap going in. I definitely wanna go with the m90 supercharger but I would like to upgrade the manifold for higher boost.

I have a stock 2003 Honda Pilot and it’s bone stock with 245k miles. My buddy has a dyno at his shop and we dynod for fun. I made 210 to the wheels stock and I beat the shit out of this car lol you definitely need a tube or something because you should be making 300 at least

I have a 2003 Pilot with 410,000 kms (~260,000kms?) on it and it still pulls like it was brand new. Doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil either. I'm an incredibly impressed with the engine, less so with the transmission, that seems to have final say in throttle input to facilitate "smooth shifting" over getting the power to the ground.

That said, those big tires you have on there are definitely absorbing a lot of your power. If you could actually get 240hp out of it that would be impressive.

What's the update on this? The wife and I are looking at adding a travel/extra vehicle to the fleet. I'm looking at either a CRV or Pilot but we are spoiled with our Supercharged dailies (Land Rover and Audi S4). So here I am looking into Supercharging a Honda SUV lol. Wouldn't want a ton of boost we just love the instant torque from an SC.

I could be wrong because I've done no research, but the biggest gain of a supercharger I thought was the compressed volume. By keeping the stock plenum I feel like it's robbing any real benefit you would have seen. Also I don't understand your comments about getting the TL motor for tuneability, just get a custom harness and a standalone. But that's just my 2 cents

200ftlbs is pretty good with those tires. But stand alone you’ll make 400 horse no problem or aem fic.

Can someone PLEASE help me out with my 16 RDX. I know the ACURA is the same thing as the Pilot isn't it? or is it the RAV 4? I cant ever remember.. but it has a J35 and I REALLY want to supercharge it and if possible either replace the trans with a better one, or find a shop that can beef up my stock 6 speed. its a 2016 awd base.
