I can't be 100% certain but I'm pretty sure that's a horse fly, their bites hurt like hell

Should have let the pitcher have it, it’s a common drone fly, or otherwise called the bee mimicking hover fly. And as a bee keeper and a carnivores plants owner I say let everything stay in there, that’s what I do.

that’s a good thing for you to do. Every pollinator that’s not a honey bee, i always try to let go. I feel bad whenever they get trapped in my VFT and when i did see it the last time the exoskeleton was there. I felt entirely guilty!

Same thing happened to this one bee I rescued. Lol 4x in a row with the same bee!!! I finally brought her over to the fence and she flew away the other way. lol
