im left handed but play drums right handed... 7 minutes in i could play continuously whilst alternating between playing it left and right handed ;)
ОтветитьThank you very much for the simple information. I'm a electronic music producer (former guitarrist) and I'm trying to runaway from the 4/4 overused formula to produce.
I'm was aware of the polyrhythm concept but it's much easier to undertand their applications through your examples.
ahhahaha the first thing i imagine in my head was danny XD
Ответитьis this what danney carey does to twist our minds?
Ответитьpass the bread and butter my dudes
Ответитьconfused as hell, from explanation this is more to polymeters... or am i wrong... i try to tab this, feel like i use 3/4 againt 4/4
ОтветитьThis is a three over four not a four over three
ОтветитьI feel like the chart complicates things to be honest.
Ответить/Im new to polyrythms.. but why is this 4/3 and not 3/4?...
ОтветитьKenwood Dennard can play 3 different rhythms at a time. Mind boggling
ОтветитьOh dude, this picture with Xes made a lot sense) I thought I was going to damage my brain trying to figure this mess out, but you, guys helped me out. +1 subscriber
Ответитьdamn dude, less talk more rock.
ОтветитьBest way to learn Polyrhythm is by studying African Drumming. 12 is an important number, but so is 24, This is where micro rhythms occur, (taking same rhythm and playing twice as fast.
Ответитьbest explaination on the tube! thanx!
Ответитьso is this like playing quarter note triplets?
ОтветитьLove the kit sounD! Esp the kick, WoW! Must get one. Turns out i've been playing this for years, without knowing it. Im stoked!
ОтветитьPass The God Damn Butter
Ответитьman you have superpower!
ОтветитьYOURE AMAZING WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW THANKS SOOO MUCH. trying to play nocturnal by Chopin and there is a few polyrhythms that are new and so confusing haha. Thanks so much! :)
ОтветитьChrist! You count polyrhythms so weirdly. I would count 3:4 as a measure of 3/4 where the 3 part is playing quarter notes and the 4 part is playing dotted 8th notes. Or if you wanted to swap the pulse, you could count it as a measure of 4/4 where the 4 part is playing quarter notes and the 3 part is playing half note triplets. So much simpler to wrap your head around.
ОтветитьThanks much for your lesson. After spending 10 min watching your vid, I think I figured out that this is definitely not for me. LOL
Ответитьthis drum set is cleaaaan! nice video btw
ОтветитьGreat Lesson!! Love the emphasis on limb independence, being able to play any part w/ any limb.
Ответитьso it's 4/4 by 3/4 in this case? Answer me Mr. Drummer sir!
ОтветитьThat's actually 8 over 3, not 4 over 3
ОтветитьKinda Pantera - Live in a Hole drum feeling .. right?
Ответитьgreat great video bro!
Ответитьthats not a 3:2 ryhthm instead of 4:3?? I mean, it sounds like a 6/4 time signature (and 3x2= 6)
ОтветитьI played these rhythms alot not even knowing i was doing polyrhythms ahaha
ОтветитьIt sounds better when you play snare each 3
ОтветитьSir How to groove with this time signature
ОтветитьIs is bad that I can memorize how it sounds and then play it better than I can play by reading it ?
ОтветитьI thought 3/4 was easy till I got to the 3/4 section in Gary Chaffee's Odd Time Stickings book. Thanks for the insightful Vimeo 3/4 primer.
ОтветитьReminds me of the intro to Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums
ОтветитьÆnima’s ending
ОтветитьI think I will go back to intermediate🥺
Ответить\m/
ОтветитьA cure for ADHD or a cause of psychosis? 😂 very good lesson!
ОтветитьNever understood the theory behind polyrhythms. Now I do! Thanks!
ОтветитьWuh
ОтветитьThe resources for the lesson link is not working, how would I get the sheet music for this?
Ответитьi swear the intro beat is from an opeth song
nvm, its the same notes from charlatan
I find the notation so weird with your chart and the X's. To me it seems the top one should be the 3 pattern and the bottom one should be the 4th pattern hence why there's 3 hits on the top and 4 on the bottom, but apparently it's not worded that way...
ОтветитьClear and helpful lesson for us drummers just getting into polyrhythms. One mathy thing, though. Twelve isn't the lowest common denominator of the integers 3 and 4. It's the least common multiple.
ОтветитьIs it easier to play polyrhythms by learning and memorizing the sound of the pattern as a whole and recreate that sound? Of course that falls apart when you want to improvise polyrhythms, unless you already know the pattern sound right?
I'm not a drummer I'm a bass player but the idea of being able to drum at a high-level fascinates me.
i wonder if anyone even monitors this channel since they're drumeo now lol anyway, playing a regular four beat with all your limbs and then playing the 3 with your left hand on a ride cymbal sounds cool
ОтветитьGotta love Dave!
