If I were a rich person I'd give her a hundred grand just to piss the owner off and help her sue them for wrongful termination and defamation...

She can't be sued for posting on Facebook. She should sue them for the threats and termination. You are legally allowed to say , write or post anything you want, as long as it is the gospel truth. If not, you can be sued. Her opinions of what was going on made the company fire her for not taking them down? Lawsuit.

This is so sad.

As a business owner, the way I would be so happy for my staff and celebrate them if they got a huge tip. I can't fathom treating people this way.

Moral of the story: when you want to tip $10K, you tell the person waiting on you to keep it quiet and not to tell a soul. I think that would work :)) Also, the only time I don't mind people not reporting income is when their income is small and getting by is tough already. It is the millionaire and billionaires committing tax fraud that truly hurt our country anyway.

fired is WAY WAY better than arrested and even sued and CERTAIN individuals make less $ than others and NEED AND WANT big amounts of $ more than others PERIOD

There was no severance package when they fired her, so there is NO confidentiality clause for her to abide by. She did nothing but share the truth. The truth is that instead of firing several employees who had felt ripped for not getting their piece of the "shared" tip because they were not working that shift, they fired ONE employee...one employee is easier to replace than several...even when the several employees were the real problem. The new problem would be multiple positions would have to be filled if they fired the correct employees. Then the Cafe decided to double down with THREATENING the person they improperly fired. She is due unemployment that they will not be able to deny, and the labor board should be working on punishing the cafe for the reason she was terminated. When you fire and employee AND you give them an unwarranted reason to justify the firing, they can be found liable, sued, and fined. This is why smart business owners just say "you're fired" and leave it at that. Similar push back is that an employer is not allowed to even say they fired an employee or why they fired/employee quit...they are only allowed to say "yes, they worked here from this date to this date"...anything more and they can be sued.

What's a shocker is that yet again your garbage corporate media outlet didn't say one fox'ing word about the toxic at-will work doctrine that empowered her employer to fire her for whatever reason they want, or the malignantly greedy tipped employee credit they undoubtedly utilize to keep prices low for their customers, or the salaried worker exemption that probably makes her boss hate being alive most 50-60++ hour weeks, without overtime compensation. I get why some of the fulltime employees that didnt get anything would be butthurt but get over it. I was more upset that for "bonus's" at my old job growing up I was a full-time employee and at the Christmas party, the "bonus's" were 500$, 250, and 100$ that were picked at random with all the employees. Some part timer got the 500$

Her boss is a moron. I will never go to that restaurant again. People are petty and selfish. She should have kept all the money and given herself time to think about what she is doing with the money.

She's been thru a very traumatic event at the hands of the owner's and other staff. Despicable . Jelousy is very damaging. I hope she gets training and finds a good , stable career. Waiting tables is a is not a healthy way to invest your time,energy and skills into.

It's even worse when you have family members who behave like this, and it doesn't get any better over time, even with prayer. Besides, look at the bright side your taxes should be paid with no problem.

Imo it’s her fault. She should’ve kept her mouth shut. She should’ve not told a soul about that money. She should just counted her blessings and used it to help her self out. Good deeds never go unpunished
