i miss the draft like this, you have fans of the draft in attendance not tons of people just showing up to an event and cheering every pick even if it's lousey. having rounds 1-3 on saturday and then 4-7 on sunday was great. too bad goodell ruined it with his fascination with primetime.

The J.P. Losman draft. I was on FOX Sports Radio in 2004 and infamously said “When it’s all said and done, Losman will be the best QB from this draft. Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger will all fall short of Losman.” 💀

FYI: In 2005 draft the Chargers used the extra draft pick to select Shawne Merriman in 1st round and traded away the 5th round pick for OT Roman Oben. Including the 2004 3rd round pick of K Nate Kaeding, the Chargers got three Pro Bowl caliber players in exchange for Eli Manning.

wonder what kind a qb big ben would have been if he wasn't drafted by steelers, I feel like steelers defense carried him more than half his career, shit look at big ben first Superbowl he sure wasn't the reason why steelers won that Superbowl. I think big ben qb rating was like 22, not saying big ban wasn't a good qb I just think he was little overrated cuz where he played for (STEELERS), big ben played in 3 Superbowl's won 2 and couldn't win 1 Superbowl MVP

German really struggled hosting this. I guess it can’t be easy when things are constantly changing with each minute. So glad that the NFL changed to to ten minutes between picks in the first round. Those 15 minute breaks were ridiculous.

I’m surprised Eli Manning got away with that crap, refusing to play for the team that drafted him, if the Chargers had any backbone they should of told him either you play for us or you don’t play at all. Elway got away with it because he had legit leverage of playing baseball instead of football.

I am a Giants Fan but the when The Opening to the beginning of paying Tribute to Pat Tillman with the commissioner and the Soldiers behind him was a wonderful tribute to have a moment of silence before the Draft began I just can’t believe we all learned that he was killed by friendly fire.

Merril Hodge was right, technically. If not for the Manning name, Eli wouldn’t have been the first pick.

Charges got fleeced in that Trade. A QB Swap with a 3rd round pick was enough. Eli was not that much better than Phillip as a player throughout his career. You could even make the arguement that Phillip was the better regular season QB.
