Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith - (Level 1) New Republic Base on Altyr 5

Ohhh this was what i alwaysed played on at my nans on pc i always thought i was on the darkside because of the black outfit / orange lightsaber i did't understand until i played the 1st one lol

Just finished JK DF2. Thought I would play Mysteries, couldn't remember how to get back to ops (vent above the console and window). Thx. It's been nearly 20 years since playing this. I was like 27 when JK DF2 came out and I bought it right away. First game I could play using the mouse to look around and I was blown away. OH the memories!

I've heard that this game isn't really the best, but I'm really curious about it because of the inclusion of Mara Jade. I've only ever played Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy so would this game be something worth picking up?

My cousin and I played this when it first came out and we would spend most of our energy trying to see if we could steal one of the landing ships or the ATST. We were convinced that it was possible on this level. I think we found all the secrets too, and I remember this level even though I've not seen this game in like 20 years. Good memories.

I'm 30 years old and still love this game. I've been playing this since I was 8.

I just realized this game engine looks like something they might've used in the Alone in the Dark series (even though I don't think that was LucasArts).

This was the first time I ever heard Steve Blum when playing this game as a kid. Unfortunately, it was just a demo, only was able to play the first three levels.

Hey LBF, I did a clean install of the gog version of this game and DF2, and it worked great on Windows 10 without any patches. I think they might have fixed both of them.

And to just quickly point this out; this game quickly explains what the hell Mara and Kyle were doing during the events of the Dark Empire trilogy. Though, fun note; by the time the sixth and final issue of the original Dark Empire came out; Zahn's Dark Force Rising had come out half a year earlier but Last Command still wasn't published so readers had no idea what was to become of Mara or how Thrawn would be defeated.

Can you play the whole game third person?

Voice trivia: Kyle is voice by Rino Romano which funnily enough would voice Alexander Munro in the Star Trek: Elite Force games.
Meanwhile, Terry McGovern voices a whole lot of characters in this game with the base commander, the Stormtroopers (I mean he did play the Mind Tricked Stormtrooper in A New Hope), the mercenaries and a few others. Terry voice a whole lot of characters in games of the 90s with Dominic Paine in MechWarrior 3 (and Connor Sinclair in Pirate's Moon), Studs Linkin and Bill Ding in LEGO Island, etc.

I only remember playing a free demo of this exact level. Was really fun though.

Man... it really sucks that i can't get thia to run on my PC, i know someone is in the process of remaking the game in Movie Duels for Jedi Academy, but that won't have the same charm.

Also are you using mods? Those Stormtroopers look really good compared to Dark Forces 2.

I would put this game, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, X-Wing, Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance as the top five best Star Wars games of the mid-late 90's PC era. Lucas Arts did very little wrong during this period.

Not quite up to the quality budget wise as Dark Forces: Jedi Knight but still a great game in it's own right. I would always give up once we got to the Sith planet cause I couldn't figure out how to get passed the statues in the swamp. I would use cheat codes just to jump ahead on the missions until the end.

I think this game was at it's best when you were just fighting the imperials and the smugglers/bounty hunters. Once you go looking for Kyle, the game lost it's entertainment for me so I would always replay the first 2/3rds all the time.

One reason that makes this game great: The NPC's ACTUALLY PUT UP A DECENT FIGHT!!! The Rebel Troopers are quite capable of shooting the Stormtroopers instead of instadying as soon as you enter the room. I hate how so many FPS style games give your comrades idiot AI and potato aim with basically close to zero HP.
