Words of advice (10+ years in Ops management) for business calls, have all your metrics (stats) written down next you so you can rattle them off quickly. Amount of runs per week, turnouts, what performance indicators you’re hitting, who on the team is doing what specifically and when, the amount of people you contract with on your support team at each event, the cost of those support contracts, etc. It’s always a bummer to hear “it depends” from a client when what we depend on is their business operating just as smoothly as ours. Find ways to phrase your seasonal dips in ways that still present your company as a growing business. I’d also advise waiting to eat and smoke until after the call so that you are physically ready to answer a question at anytime. You want to be sure they know you value that time with them just as much as they are valuing that time being away from other clients. Even if they are a smoking approved brand and super chill and don’t care about professionalism per se, you still want to be physically present in the moment so you can rise to any question quickly.
