I don't follow politics too closely but I heard a possible reason why he picked Rubio, who many consider a RINO, was to get him off the Senate floor. The Secretary carries out the President’s foreign policies through the State Department and the Foreign Service of the United States. So he's basically just being Trump's mouthpiece to push his policies. And I would say it would be more difficult removing a Senator from the floor than to fire a Press Secretary, not sure how much power Trump would have since they are selected members of his cabinet and not elected. 🤷‍♂️

His picks thus far have been solid...including just now hiring Vivek and Musk to head the DOGE. I think he's playing Chess not Checkers with the Rubio move, time will tell!
