.This case is completely different from the Stephen Lawrence case (in my view) I am failing to see what this officer could have done differently , given the fashion in which the driver was behaving in the car / handling the car . Whilst I sympathise with the family for the loss of a loved one , the truth is he was still an active criminal . I greatly sympathise with the officer on this one : I am sure a lot has happened to him personally behind closed doors . Going through all this is hard . I witnessed it in my family when a family went through a similar thing as a nurse . Even if one eventually goes back to work or is exonerated the personal trauma of it all is on another level .
