The guys at m5board/m6board are nice enough to put these videos up which we would otherwise not see. How about a little respect? The M6 and M3 are quite close as far as performance figures go. I'm surprised there was such a discrepancy in straightline acceleration.

C mon guys M3 has manual gearbox it will be much closer with new double clucth sequential,well it will never beat it but it will be much closer :( But i am still sure that M3 beats it around the track easily :)

Good point. The M3's slalom speed is apparently unheard of. I'm not sure what it is exectly..... but it's f**king fast. That said, the M6 has my heart

yeah..it will be interesting to see what the double clutch does...the M6 is what like 40,000 USD more for straight line speed..not a better handling car??

No, stock. But I would say it was surprisngly fast, doid not loose too much to a S65 AMG we raced at one event this October.

I would say DCT would win.

Much of the similarity in low speed performance can be attributed to the M3's lighter weight. At higher speeds, the M V10 will no doubt leave the V8 behind, despite its still very respectable power output. The V10's continuous pull is hard to beat, especially at higher speeds. Doing the math, the M6 still comes out on top when comparing power to weight ratio, which explains why it walks away. I wonder if the M3 was a manual or the new Dual Clutch DKG transmission, that would make a difference.

the m6 has proved many times that it can pull 0-100 times of 4.0 seconds dead to 4.1 seconds depending on test conditions. BMW are deliberatley conservative about their numbers.

jimmy has right the m6 is driving to 100 in 4.2 not faster ;). and the new m3 is sexyyy guy ;)

alright why compare a car that has over 600 hp to a car that has only 500 hp but one thing i know for sure is that bmw would waste the merc around the track no doubt thats just how good mpower is these days

I guess you forgot cars like SL65 AMG or the new SL63 AMG... or CL 65 AMG?? Or the CLK DTM?? They are all faster from 0-60 if the M models are not using Launch Control. After 60 they will be all even, but no way an M6 is faster than a CLK DTM.

I'm talking about stock cars. Show me any BMW car that could smoke the Mercedes SLR. Even the SL65 is faster than any BMW. That is the TRUTH, it has nothing to to with me. I actually love the BMW M5 and M6, but since we're talking about acceleration and top speed, Mercedes has faster cars (SLR, SLR 722, CLK-DTM, SL63 AMG, SL65 AMG). And Stop rating this comment down, you guys just know what I said is true. M models are slow from 0-60 without using the Launch Control. Yes, 5-6 sec. is slow.

Hey you cant stay NA forever..I love bmw for the natural aspirated engines but i kinda like that their taking a new route and playing with turbos..135i is a good example..it can keep up with the e92 m3 at extrmely good pace..and it runs almost similar 0-60 times..so it actully works..reliabiliy isnt a huge issue as much as u think of it..its not like its gonna blow the next day lol
