AI Agents: How One Bot Replaced 700 Employees (2025 Will Change Everything)

If everyone is getting laid off and replaced by AI, who will pay taxes? Who will purchase the goods and services these corporations produce? What will happen to the people who graduated 10-20 years ago before AI was in use? I don’t see them going back to school to get another degree.

Interesting and important- Many businesses do not realize their inefficiency and gaps in their knowledge of their own processes and client interaction and satisfaction. Internal research by a company could go down a wrong road or waste in relearning what others have discovered. The babysitting jobs are going to be booming? What math is this that says tons of new jobs. Been hearing this for 5 years, where's all these promised jobs that AI or the convergence of AI and self replicating / self maintaining robotics won't replace soon after they're created?

Hmm I think there is a place for AI in customer support but at a lower level for easy issues. However many customers tend to give feedback of wanting to talk to real humans, especially with more complex issues. So it won’t replace support personnel but will rather complement support. If the AI gets stuck it can escalate to human operators to continue the investigation. But I think we need to realise that not all customers will want to chat to AI agents, the human touch is still very much needed for many people.

Julia, I'm retired from Software Engineering but I still keep up best I can - on a fixed income (of course). Are there any good AI implementations that work well and are also free or very low-cost? Thank you for doing what you do and thank you in advance for any suggestions. I did OOAD with UML with a round-trip engineering tool, "Visual Paradigm". So, I finished my IT career as an OOA/OOD SE consultant. My focus would be Use Cases as used to capture objects. On the COGNITIVE side, I'm a member of the Advaita Vedanta school of cognitive development and have come up with a basic AI model based on the Vedic model of Consciousness. I thought it would be a good idea to look into the FUNDAMENTAL nature of intelligence/Consciousness/consciousness to use as a basis of TRUE intelligence which will probably be BETTER THAN "Artificial" Intelligence. Needs to happen.

Julia, in your podcast a. Few days ago titled how one bot replaced 700 jobs you mentioned removing your daughter from traditional school. I'm unclear about "Con kid's" school. Is it "Khan kids"? I found Khan's Academy but they only go until eight years old. We have a daughter who is 13 and needs similar education as your daughter. Please clarify what school you mean. Wait, people really think AI will be a net job creator?

Our current economic and social system cannot support this revolutionary change without causing massive unemployment. All this is going to do is enrich in the short term the very few that control the political system and most of the resources of our nation. This is going to destroy societies & families as jobs in marketing, financial services, customer service, medical service, transportation service, military service etc. will be replaced by ai bots and ai robots. These positions that are the backbone of the purchasing power of our nation will disappear and be replaced by what a few technicians needed to maintain the systems we’re going to forget how to do things. There should already be legislation in place that clearly states that if a person is replaced with an AI BOT that person’s pay should be compensated until that person passes away by the additional profits AI bots are gonna bring an organization. That’s the problem. The humanity is not there. Our entire economic system is based on margins and greed. Be ready for massive layoffs and massive pushback from the people. By the way, even this person advertising this will soon be replaced by a bot equivalent that can just look just like her in digital form selling the stuff. This kind of technology needs to be introduced with humanity’s well-being being the prime directive for the introduction, not margins and profitability, although better margins and profitability will be a slow and gradual outcome of this as we gradually introduced the technology. Unfortunately, It’s not going to be gradual not the way the politicians and the corporate executives operate in our country. It’s going to cause huge instability. Wait and see. I can sense the anxiety at work already and in the social media. Honestly maybe universal income is the only solution, but I don’t see any talk about that anywhere other than in chit chat

It's terryifing seing a human talking so wrecklesly about making tools dispalcing other people's jobs. I would be interested if she ever thinks about her being displaced too.

As an IT worker, you are talking about replacing most of us and what's left of us will "manage" AI. So Companies will downsize immensely deploy millions of bots to do complex tasks. If you build the agents correctly you only do that one time. There are only so many companies and if they all do this (which they will because if they don't they will be left behind), everyone but a handful will be gone. We have no system to take care of us when that happens. It will be like all of us go into retirement, and then get really bored because you contribute nothing because why bother when AI can do it. The speed of all of this and the total lack of planning replacing entire industries will be catastrophic.

Employers can’t totally automate because then they lose differentiation in the market. With AI agents, employers can have their unique employees unknowingly train the AI to replicate their processes—even. after. termination.

In the age of AI agents, protect your future job prospects. Negotiate a "Post-Termination Work Product and Process Protection Clause" in your employment contract. This will help ensure your unique contributions aren't used to train AI agents that your former employer could then use to replicate your work—without having you on payroll.

Without protecting your likeness from being replicated, this AI agent trend will make job searches increasingly challenging for workers.

A.I agents once tweaked to bring home the bacon will not require management. It's total fairy dust to suggest the jobs taken by the agents will be replaced in anywhere near the amount lost. What you need to understand Julia is that there is no purpose to having a more efficient cost saving business if you live in a world where people have no money to spend on goods and services.

I currently work in digital marketing and I feel I have seen a trend where a new ai system is deployed within a marketing platform. It promises to automate certain tasks etc. However after a few months of running we find we have to actually turn the system off as it starts hurting our campaigns more than helping. Perhaps they will get better with time but I am not sure how sustainable deploying ai agents to automate the workforce will be. We should be thinking of ai as a tool, not the workforce and I’m a bit embarrassed that people are thinking this way.

How can one get this technology? Where is there an example?

Julia please put a banner if you are Julia bot and not real Julia. I would not mind watching your bot or ai agent whatever its called I just don’t like the feeling of watching someone I like and then finding out its not real. I have no idea why. I hope in future there is a law to let people know they are not watching a real human.

while I love your videos and I think you are doing great work, there's one thing that is really kind of annoying ... All this optimism is great and there's going to be new jobs available but the elephant in the room is that five AI managers are going to replace 5,000 developers maybe three AI doctor mnagers Will replace entire hospitals, maybe 15 attorneys which manage AI will replace complete buildings of attorneys. The question is not whether new AI jobs will be available. the question is if you have a few AI managers do you really need the rest of the staff and the answer is no. so while there will be 1% of global workforce that will find new work in AI management, 99% of other employees will lose their job... so it's great to be optimistic about new AI opportunities, but most will not be AI managers and will have to resort to low UBI.

Most all of my work requires proprietary knowledge of my company's business and my customer's business, as well as the unique projects, systems, and integrations with third party systems that we are working on. I doubt this is unique. How can companies educate & utilize AI and AI Agents and still keep all their proprietary/confidential information private?
