Andhra & Telangana News: Life impacted as incessant rains continue to pound | Hyderabad News

Various places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana received heavy rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds on Saturday morning. Besides heavy rain, the IMD has forecast thunderstorms in isolated places across the region as the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression.
Two people were killed and six others injured when a house collapsed due to a landslide during heavy rainfall in Vijayawada. According to police officials, boulders rolled down and fell on the victims' house, which was located on a hill slope near the Moghalrajpuram area.
Vijaywada has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past 24 hours. Heavy water logging was reported from many places in the Auto Nagar Colony in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. As per locals, they are witnessing such severe flooding for the first time in their lives.
Heavy rains also lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday, even as the IMD issued an orange alert for the city over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Central Water Commission (CWC) warned that most of the rivers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to swell over the next two days.
