Great work as always. Im sure this has been asked before but is there any update regarding the age limit for the 485 graduate visa? It just doesnt seem fair for anyone who made (possibly) a life changing decision to come here expecting to at least have a fair chance of getting a job experience based on their area of study. But all that has been taken away...midway through the process. It just doesnt seem fair to change the rules in the middle of playing the game.

Hello Carl, thank you for the video. Has the processing time for visitor visas increased now? I applied for my partner's visitor visa 3 weeks ago, and still no decision has been made. Our travel dates are one week away, and if they don't process our files within one more week, will they just refuse the visa? I'm a Permanent resident and living overseas with her and going to travel there together for one week.

For far too long and far too often, politicians around the world love to beat around the bush rather than resolving the issue directly, using any form of scapegoat they can find to blame on. It’s almost like a mandatory quality of being a politician.

Looking at the processing times of the visa, it really is but irresponsible to issue visa with such long and delayed processing times. It is unfair to blame the applicants too because the processing time start from the date all the supporting documents are submitted in accordance to the checklist. For example for visa 491 the processing time stretches up to 23 months according the the immi website. And lets say in the case of the applicant being issued the visa after 23 months it becomes unfair to subject the applicant to serve an additional 3 years of regional work requirement and unwise to limit such skilled migrant to only regional areas. The applicant would have lost the 23 months in opportunities to better themselves outside the regional areas. So to be fair we should really imposed the 3 years regional work requirement as stated and the date should really be from the date of selection of the applicant instead of date of visa issued.

191 processing time has blown out to 9+ months.

Imagine applying for 491 which takes about 12-24 months just to process. Then you have to live in a regional area for 3 years before you can apply for 191. Finally, you apply and then it gets delayed for absolutely no reason.

So basically almost 6 years just to get a PR. Almost 3 years in processing time wasted while waiting for the grant. All while offshore 189/190 grants occur.

Anyone able to apply 191 has complied with their terms, worked, paid tax and contributed to Australia, remain lawful and have done the right thing!

It's an absolute joke that this is what happens when you follow the rules!

Hi Karl, is there any similar update from SA? Onshore applicants have not seen any substantial invitations and most of the invitations has been given to overseas applicants so far. Can you write to them and ask what are they upto? This will help thousands of onshore applicants!

Waiting on 90 points since 2023 on IT

As someone applying for 189 / 190 in Victoria as an emergency nurse, would it be worth relocating to Queensland to obtain the 190? Worried at this stage that emergency services aren’t a priority and that my partner and myself will have to leave Australia… we have 85 points…

Australia is tough with PR visas and points are too high. Time and money waste.

Nice video as always! Lodged 190 in Dec-23, any idea by when one can expect the grant?

To be honest regional sponsored visa is like the biggest cash cow for most of the regional business. They ask for 70-80k to give a job and then don’t even pay you for the first 2 years ! A restaurant manager / chief / fuel pump CSR’s and several jobs that anyone can do are getting sponsored for money.
I spoke to a few agents in Brisbane and they all told the cost to get sponsored and it’s turns out everyone knows the price list now !
