'If I Can Do it, It's Attainable' from the After Kim K Series, Art Project by Amy DiPlacido #shorts

I received really good feedback on my new art series, ‘After Kim K,’ and thought I’d share some behind-the-scenes process shots. The first thing I did was recreate the background painting from Allure Magazine, color matching mauve with off-white clouds.

The hair extensions that I purchased online came with these clips that I had to remove before sewing them along the shoulder seam. The hair was getting tangled, and surprisingly heavy, so I braided the hair to keep my sewing project more organized. I cut some back felt for my eyelash extension like in the original photo, then I put on some makeup, matching the colors the best I could.

It was a quick photoshoot, because the hair shirt was so heavy, but overall I was really happy with my first ‘After Kim K’ series and can’t wait to recreate more! This was entitled ‘If I’m Doing it, It’s Attainable,” from Allure Magazine’s August 2022 issue.
