You can make a living "off of" incompetent human host.
ОтветитьThe last home I rented had a 1990s Luxaire air handler which kept the filter inside the housing as well, making you have to take it apart to replace the filter. Unfortunately on the Luxaire there was no support so it just loosely sat in this channel.
ОтветитьMy friend has a little.plastoc doggy door on his garage door into the kitchen. 😱
Not code. Not gas-tight. Not fire-resistant. ☠️
I told him about it being dangerous....
Am I right?
Bro the program a you setting times to start for the zones so rhey should be apaced out if they run for 10vmins. Zone 1 starts at 7. Zone 2 start's say at 715. Zone 3 starts at 725. Zone 4 starts 740. For example and run tine if 10mins each
ОтветитьI alway pull y the washer out even with the dryer and squeeze a board behind them . If you leave the dryer further out every person that walks in there is going to try to push it back.
ОтветитьThat was $1500 work? You skipped filming some jobs? 1500 is just your average but not necessarily this day? Where are you located?
ОтветитьDo you mark up the parts you buy for the customer, do you invoice for them outside of your hourly rate?
ОтветитьShould have put a 2x4 or some kind of stop behind the dryer so it doesn't get pushed into the hose again.
ОтветитьSome how clip or use a hanging bracket for your cover on the furnace no screws ... ! Heck not too bad to change a filter !
ОтветитьNothing sux more then doing bs repair work. 32 yrs of new build commercial and residential plus “handyman” crap on the side.
I’ll take new build any day of the week. What’s the old saying…. Jack of all trades master of none?
Yeah I prepare being a master at my trade and dealing with other ppls crap.
But hey… you do you… good for you you can make that kinda money…. But as a tradesman. Nope… I’m paid way to much to deal w other people’s problems.
I would've got rid of the slinky driver vent and use 4 inch pipe. Those things are a fire hazard
ОтветитьInstall a filter grill at the interior return air grill then install the filter inside the home.
ОтветитьYour day was very similar to an apartment maintenance day.
ОтветитьGoing around robbing people and bragging about it. Nice!
ОтветитьYou are a local scammer.
ОтветитьWhen putting up a shade tarp I always use the heavy duy trucker bungee cords on the tarp eyes. Lots of benefits.
ОтветитьYikes! I hate that furnace filter set up! When you get your furnace replaced, have the installers put in a filter box.
ОтветитьIn my experience if you show up and do good work on one project the customer is likely to come up with other repairs for you to do. I always try to be the nicest guy that they will meet all day and that's pretty easy because I like what I do and most customers are appreciative.
ОтветитьNow that I have a fairly decent skillset from a lifetime of teaching myself... I'm not limber enough to climb behind a dryer. But I have managed this same issue myself several times.
ОтветитьIf you charge a reasonable amount and actually do good work, a customer is for life
ОтветитьShould float the idea of doing a pully line system for that shade cloth to the owner.
Ответитьhow do you price your work
ОтветитьGlad to know I've been a real man for a number of years. That handy magnet has saved me so much time over the years.
ОтветитьYou should have replaced the dryer vent pipe. All the buildup is bad in the vent and you must clean all that build up.
ОтветитьWas a remodeling contractor for 40 years also handy man service. Have made a good deal of money because of poor builder pratices
ОтветитьKeep the furnace where it is, kick the return duct to the left and put a 5” airbear filter box in. Move the combustion makeup air duct as needed. Alternatively, they also seal 90 degree filter boxes that are setup similar with the filter at a 40 degree angle.
ОтветитьHe’s doing ok if he can wear a 10k submariner to do handyman work. 😂
ОтветитьI love looking at your legs handyman!! keep ‘em coming!
ОтветитьNeighborhood blind & curtain hanger since I was 12… headers are hit & miss, but there’s always a 2x4 stud that runs along each side of windows, screw the brackets 1” over.
ОтветитьDefinitely would like to see more of these "full day of work" videos!
ОтветитьI’m only a couple months into my handyman journey and I love it so far. Great channel.
ОтветитьThese videos are kind of worthless without breaking down the charge for each small job.
ОтветитьThe way dryer duct connections are designed in most houses is just horrible. It usually requires that you snake the flex duct with at least one extreme bend and then it comes off of the collar like you saw here and then all that twisting behind the dryer prevents you from moving the dryer close to the wall. I think the right way to do it is to have the collar recessed into the wall between the studs so the bending of the duct doesn't impede the dryer and you have much better airflow. Don't forget to clean your dryer vent, it's something most people don't think about and your house could burn down.
ОтветитьRight hand steering wheel, cool beans.
ОтветитьDon't you love headerless windows!
ОтветитьWhen my dad retired, he did a few handyman jobs for some of the elderly widows in my grandmother's neighborhood. They paid ridiculously well (he charged $25/hr and they usually gave him a $100 tip), and he had to eventually stop taking calls because so many people started reaching out to him that he couldn't enjoy his retirement. No hard jobs: change light fixture, replace blown bulbs, change a sink faucet, put up a closet shelf, etc. A LOT of people have no idea how to maintain or fix things, so there's plenty of money to be made.... IF you are a person of principles who will treat people fairly. Good word of mouth = career!
ОтветитьRe: the filter location - when you were explaining how awful it was to access I was waiting for some crazy thing but how long could that have possibly taken? Especially with your new man card tool which I would throw at the guy that recommended it - feel like he is going to discover an oscillating tool next. But really, yes it isn’t the best design but does it take that long to do?
Ответитьdidn't you do a 1000 a day just a few years back?
ОтветитьI’m writing a comment because you told me to do so
ОтветитьStop talking.
ОтветитьI have met lots of get-rich-quick contractors over the years. It did not work for them. People want good quality work at a fair price. For those people, there is a waiting line.
ОтветитьYou inspired me to become a handyman, 3 years in now and I can’t thank you enough
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьGod Bless U for doing the dryer repair
