I worked in a clinic with a few Ortho surgeons. They barely kept up with doctor's callback, nevermind willingly open an app dedicated to people leaving a ton of emails about their itchy ankles or whatever.
This might be useful for messaging between workers in a clinic, but they could also just walk up and tell them what's going on.

This seems to be a limited problem, most other developed countries already stopped using pagers in the hospital field

Fun Fact - the sales pitch is bad, but another company successfully did it, called ZocDoc. It's not a social media platform but it's everything they described.
