Thank you, that was a very nice comparison video. That Yi camera looks very interesting. But, at the end when you list the pros and cons, I think you have the cable information backwards. I thought the Yi had the 10 foot USB cable, and the Ring had the 20 foot plug.
ОтветитьThe Ring does have the 20ft plug in cable. You were right in that he transposed them. Loved the comparison. Ring does need to work on the night vision. The battery Spotlight Cam has better night vision than the wired one.
ОтветитьI need you to make one combining the pros of each. :) Ring's night video is a real shame as I could justify the higher cost as it did everything else really well. I really would like to see some Lifehacks on the power cords as I've been thinking of how to wire some of them. I recently saw a video that did give me an idea for a way. Transposing the images really did show how big of a difference that makes.
ОтветитьHave you found new outdoor enclosures to Xiaomi mijia ip cameras? This Yi outdoor camera doesn't give much for the price(?). Good comparison tho !
ОтветитьHey Lifehackster,
FYI:I notice you have the 20ft power cord listed on the Yi Outdoor cam and the 10ft power cord on the Ring cam..
Question- on the Yi cam did you have the Lens Distortion option adjusted all the way to the left to get a wider fov when you did comparsion?
Hi do they ship to nee zealand? Trying to buy from ur link but it says does not ship to NZ.
ОтветитьIs it possible to turn on motion detection notifications of the yi camera on two mobiles at the same time?
ОтветитьJust curious, but has the Yi Outdoor camera done any better on the audio sync to video? Hoping maybe it was just temporary glitch.
ОтветитьGreat vid . New sub thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI heard there were privacy concerns with the YI application. This would make it a non-starter for me.
ОтветитьCan the alarm be turned of on the yi so it doesn't sound the alarm
Ответитьhaha so the Yi camera can record ghosts? :)
ОтветитьHi Lifehackster, love your channel and have subscribed. I am just starting my outdoor security camera setup. Which one or what would you recomnend to begin with? I have the Ring doorbell and am looking to move on from there. I appreciate any suggestions and have been watching all the videos. Fantastic stuff!!
Thanks !
Is the yi outdoor still recording without wifi and on motiom detection recording mode?
ОтветитьI have the exact OPPOSITE reaction from my ring. It detects movement and sends alerts all the time with nothing there...yet a person or a CAR can walk/drive right under it and I get nothing. It is SOOOO annoying. For the record I have moved the camera to 7 different locations, it's about 5-10 feet from my internet and i have tried ALL settings. For almost $300 Canadian ..its a super disappointment
ОтветитьDoes the Yi camera send motion related alerts to an iPhone? I can’t seem to get mine to send motion triggered alerts to my phone. Help?
ОтветитьGreat video thanks

Have had the YI outside camera for about 6 months and it works great and only cost $75 shipped. Very easy to install. Speaker volume could be better but you rarely if ever will use it anyway. Was going to get a Ring for the back yard but believe I’ll pass, nighttime vision is probably the most important feature of any security system. Ring just does not offer as good of quality and it’s a no go for us
I just got my Yi on the back of this review and I've gotta say it's great.
2 cameras cost me £59 each and I went for the €60 A year per camera cloud storage for 24/7 recording.
The quality is good enough and the wifi seems brilliant especially without an external Ariel
I saw that tge yi less than 30bux on amazon. Is it worth it.?
