"Yoshi Gone MFGG" fangame demo playthrough

A smorgasbord of incoherent assets strung together into bizarre run-on levels, where Yoshi is pitted against members of the MFGG community and their sprites.

Recording this has long been a thorn in my side! The game is exceptionally glitchy and prone to crashing, likely due to its usage of the "iniplus" and "kcpop" plugins, seemingly for special effects and producing checkpoints after speaking to Boshi. The game's likely to just not start at all, and if it does, it'll tend to crash after the intro of the second or third stages. Inputting passwords before you've entered gameplay also tends to produce the same results. Level warping with Cheat Engine still resulted in a lot of crashes, but was necessary to get things moving at times.

Hats off to Yoshiman for attempting to recreate the abilities of Yoshi's Island within Clickteam's default platform engine, though the results are decidedly fiddly. Aiming eggs is criminally slow, and you can't fire another until the first has hit its target or gone off-screen... but often gets lost in limbo, completely depriving you of the ability unless you somehow rectify it, as seen in the Evil Yoshi fight...!
Having access to Yoshi's tongue, eggs and stomp should make for a fun moveset, but it's not unlike Kirby On Zebes where the game arbitrarily decides what enemy is weak to which attack -- and more often than not, you have to fight small squirrelly targets using the extremely cumbersome eggs.

Either the game is even more glitched and Boshi's upgrades don't take effect, or they simply weren't coded in. Yoshiman's stage is located after the credits in the game's data and available by password, but is clearly unfinished with no more rooms after it.
