The 10 Sexiest Special/Collector's Edition Books in My Collection

I went in a kick where I wanted the vintagey looking mass paperbacks of books from the 70s and 80s

When it comes to editions that you don't want to read from, I get it. I have the Folio version of The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin and I tell my wife, it's no longer just a book, it's a piece of art.

Had to stop watching. Too lewd.

I loved all of these! I was surprised to see the version of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles showcased here. (Which I own a copy of!) But my favorite is the Count of Monte Cristo special edition!

WOW on the Gene Wolfe books! I'm just starting book 3 on kindle but when I get physical copies for my library, the Folio Society editions are going to have to make it in my budget. So cool.

Folio is Folio. So it’s without question. As for “standard” publishing Sandman Absolute edition was something. Folio can do things but this was by design is.

Oh my goodness, DUNE! And NEW SUN! Those books are GORGEOUS! Since you're a fellow Dune fan--not to mention Sun Eater--I think you'll absolutely love New Sun. Gene Wolfe is fast becoming one of my new favorite authors. Cheers!

Wow those Folio Society ones are out of this world! Totally agree on the B&N editions being great value, and I plan to read Monte Cristo and Jurassic Park in those. Also love my Broken Binding Of Blood and Fire and my Dragonsteel Warbreaker and Way of Kings!

Some of my own favorite special editions are from Grim Oak Press—I have a beautiful copy of Dragonsbane and an omnibus of the first three Temeraire books that’s just spectacular. I’m hoping some recent kickstarters I bought into result in great editions like the Sword of Kaigen and Dragon Mage and Empire of Silence!

Love the Shogun and according to Amazon that edition is listed as Premium Collectors Edition

Gotta get me those Book of the New Sun Folio editions! Love the series, but only have paperbacks. Last year I ordered a hardback Discworld book, Mort, and amazon substituted it with a Folio edition!!! No extra charge! Not sure if they just made a mistake or intentionally subbed, but I happily kept it.

Beautiful editions, I have Dracula, Frankenstein and Brothers Grimm fairy tales from B&N editions.

Definitely want some more of these types of books, mine are "reader" used types. Thank you for showing off some of them, love it.

I own the same LOTR edition, have had it for over 15 years and looks as good as new.

I also own the Dune folio and omg I love it so much. I have read it though lol. I also own 3 of ASOIAF, as well as His Dark Materials in Folio editions. However, my favorite special limited edition of The Tommyknockers from PSPublishing

This one was so fun to watch! Some of those editions are amazing and expensive as well. I have 3 from Folio Society on my wishlist, but thankfully, they are on the "cheaper" side of what they offer. Thanks for sharing!

I think the Folio Society game of thrones books are very expensive. I bought the Harper Collins special editions and they have some fantastic artworks inside.

Incredibly beautiful books for bibliophiles! Where does one typically pick up these editions? Are direct orders from the publishers? are they sold at events such as Comic-con or what not?

Folio society is shamelessly very expensive and they don’t need to be so. A book costs $200 that’s way too much especially nowadays with 70s like inflations

The very first thing I bought with my very first paycheck was the Red Leather copy of The Lord of the Rings. This was back in 1980! I do still have it.

I thrift for books so paying anything over $5 is hard for me to do. But holy crap now I want to get the Vampire Chronicles and Count of Monte Cristo

I was hunting the Internet every day since Christmas for that edition of Shogun, and found it on eBay for $20. I never snapped up a book so fast!

You are speaking to my inner book nerd now. Another publisher you may want to consider is Easton Press. All their books are very high quality, almost rivaling The Folio Society.
