After conceding a 31:38 loss in the first match of the season against Aalborg, Nantes were facing yet another daunting task in the Match of the Week against Industria Kielce. But the Polish side were seriously undermanned due to injuries. They struggled in the start of the match, in a fiery atmosphere in the H Arena, scoring only three times in the first 15 minutes. Apart from a short comeback at the start of the second half, when they tied the score, Kielce fell to a 48 per cent attacking efficiency. The pivotal moment of the match came between the 39th and the 55th minutes, when Nantes went on a decisive 9:2 run. In the end, Nantes secured a 23:20 win, which set a new record for the lowest number of goals scored by Kielce in a match in the European premium competition, beating the previous mark by a single goal. Nantes goalkeeper Ignacio Biosca was named Player of the Match after making 14 saves (42 per cent efficiency).
