NVIDIA RTX 4080 Review - Before You Buy..

Correction - RTX 4090 MSRP is $1600, not $1500 as I state in the video. This makes it 33% more expensive than the 4080, but 36% faster (pure rasterization).
Realistically that's still a worthwhile margin to consider and shows that the 4080 should be far cheaper.

In the current market (at least on amazon) the difference between a 4080 super and the 4090 is about 600 to 700 dollars. Not worth the extra money in my pocket book

4080 seems kinda pointless to me. If your budget is that high you might as well go for the 4090, and if it's not the 70 tier cards offer wayyy better value. The 4080 will only make sense if they bring the price down to (or preferably below) £1k.

I killed my 3080ti today and thought about just buying a 4080. Thanks for your review but i think i will wait for the 4080 Super launch to factor into my decision.

Doebt you'll see this 9 months later, but it'd be nice to see what sort of performance hit we can expect to see (if any) from running obs while gaming with various cpu/gpu combos. I'm most interested in the 7800x3d/4090 performance hit at 4K.

4080 should be cut to < $900 and the 4090 should be cut to current 4080 price, ($1200).

4080 is great when you don’t like tgp beyond 300 watts.

But 4090 not coming at 1600 usd MSRP, its street price at my region is around 2000-2500 usd. But 4080 is available at MSRP

it’s to do with stock. people don’t get the 4080 because of the value, due to the scalpers for the 4090 and how long you have to wait for stock the 4080 is now better value 😂

I have just recently upgraded to the RTX 4080. Mainly for 3D work, Blender, Photoshop, Unreal Engine.
I wonder if I could use 4080 and 2080ti SLI in my PC and enhace my 3D power that way? Any professional oppunions?

There's a 600/700 euro difference between the 4080 and 4090. I bougt the 4080 because it's the max I need, without overspending the 600/700.

yeah absolutely no reason to buy the 4080, because the 4090 just blows it out of the water. I'd recommend waiting for christmas saving some more money and going for that.

I don't really agree with this review - not enough emphasis on the poor value of both the 4080 and 4090. The 4080's problem is not performance, it's the really high price. It's not worth the money. $800 max. $4090 is okay at $1200 - but it's the high profit, money maker card for Nvidia so somewhat expected.

Can I just said, you motivated me to focus on simply performance. I got an Ncase M1 along with items required to do dual rad custom loop aside from fittings. I deciding not going that route and starting to focus on fitness.

4080 frame times are bad it would feel stuttery even at high fps i know because pubg has similar frame times and feels stuttery at 144fps

Throughout the chip shortage I chose to stick with my 2070 Super because at the time it still gave me adequate performance. The card I was waiting for in my mind was the 4080 but looking at the price Nvidia is asking it's a hard sell when you see the price to performance of the 4090. I don't even want an affordable 3000 series after waiting this long. There's no reason other than greed for this card costing more than $1000
