I read their Awake magazine, because a family member accepted their offer to read it. It was attractive with all their artwork. But it didn’t make sense. 1975 was the day of Armageddon , which didn’t happen. You ask any JW, and they conveniently forgot about that failed prophecy. I asked the family member who accepted their magazine, and they didn’t read it. It was just a very obvious device to draw people into their blind org.

The verse sets the stage for the next verse, which describes the coming of the Son of Man as being as visible as lightning across the sky.

You're incorrect about the Doctrine. They teach that Jesus is ruling in heaven right now and will soon be extending that kingship to the earth. They do not describe 1914 as the coming of Jesus; JWs teach that he will come to earth at the very end, right before Armageddon.

I am one of Jehovahs witnesses, we believe that Jesus began ruling in heaven in 1914 we have never said that he would come down onto the earth. And we never said that the world would end. The Bible never says certain time when it would end. We say that according to scriptures in revelation that once we see the signs (I forgot the exact scripture) but once we see the signs of the last days then Armageddon will come soon. We say Satan came down in 1914 because it was the start of well WORLD WAR I which led to WORLD WAR II so bud with all do respect do some research before spreading lies to thousands of people!

Why do JW believe that people after surviving Armagedón live 1000 years without Satan, and then Satan returns after 1000 years? (am I wording this correctly?) I got into a conversation with my sister today and I told her it doesn't make sense to have to "relive" Satan coming back into the picture. She got real defensive. I know I don't want to be living 1000 years and then "Bang" Satan's back into the picture.

This is what I struggle with. Every organization. It doesn't matter which one you look at. But JW, for example. Has a leadership that interprets scripture.

If you take away the watchtower track society and their human interpretations of the Bible, I.e predicting the end of the world or other heavenly things.

The doctrine is pretty solid and bible-based.

In 1844 a British clergyman E.B.Eliott drew attention to 1914 as a possible date for the end of the Seven times Daniel Chapter 4. 1849, Robert Seeley, of London dealt with the subject in same reasoning. 1870 Joseph Seiss of the United States pointed to 1914 as a significant date in Bible chronology. Dont point out the early Bible students as the only ones.
